William S. ldquo;Billrdquo; Pickett of Wilmore, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late John H. Pickett and Hallie Rogers Pickett, was born October 16, 1927 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:15 A.M., Friday, June 19, 2009 in Wilmore. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was employed as a foreman at Tennessee Gas Transmissions Company in Campbellsville.
He united in marriage to Clara Burress.
Besides his wife, Clara Pickett of Georgetown, he is survived by two nieces and four nephews: Alyce C. Hutchins and husband, Delynn, Maurice Pickett and wife, Tessa, Jim Ray Conover and wife, Linda and Margaret Bertram and husband, Barry of Campbellsville, Oreon R.Walker and wife, Midge of Louisville and Jack Pickett and wife, Peggy of Canada, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Winifred P. Conover, Evelyn Walker, John H. Pickett and Weldon Pickett.
