Charles Cottrell, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Thomas Smith Cottrell and Frances Farrow Cottrell, was born in Lexington, Kentucky August 13, 1932. He died at 9:50 A.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 77
He was a veteran of Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and the United States Army.
He was a retired mailer with the Cincinnati Enquirer where he was also a Union Leader.
He was a baseball coach for Williamstown Little League.
He united in marriage to Betsy Ann Pittman in 1956.
Besides his wife, Betsy Ann Cottrell of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Charles Francis Cottrell, Jr. of Campbellsville and Darlene Roberts of Midway; two step-daughters and one step-son: Gladys Marie Fredricks of Brookville, Michelle Smith of Midway and Mr. Gale Clark of Winchester; two step-grandchildren: Wesley Brown and Shawn Warmouth; two sisters: Joyce Dailey and husband, Bobby and Ann Birch and husband, Gene of Versailles; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Cottrell.
