James W. Dyer of Port St. Lucie, Florida, formerly of Laurel, Maryland, was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He died Saturday, August 29, 2009, in Port St. Lucie, Florida Age: 74
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Midway Road Church of Christ.
He was a volunteer in the Kings Isle Community where he lived.
He was an intelligence officer with National Security Agency and retired after forth years of service. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and the Army Reserves.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s Decree from John Hopkins University.
He united in marriage to Jean Shipp in 1956.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Jean Shipp Dyer of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one daughter and one son: Karen Kelly Dyer and husband, Eric Gray of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Anthony L. Dyer of Laurel, Maryland; a brother, Andrew Dyer of Woodland Hills, California; a sister-in-law, Virginia Shipp Smith of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
