Kentucky State Police cruiser hits and kills pedestrian

08-01-2010 Kentucky State Police Post 13, Hazard, KY

(Hazard, KY) At approximately 10:00 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 13, in Hazard received a call that Trooper Michael Fogleman had struck a pedestrian with his issued cruiser, while traveling south on KY 15, in Jackson, Kentucky. Trooper Fogleman was in route from the Morehead Post area to Hazard, where he is on a special detail with the Marijuana Eradication team. The victim, Kenneth R. Sizemore, age 38 of Jackson, was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center, in Jackson where he was pronounced dead by Breathitt County Coroner George Griffith. Trooper Fogleman is a five year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, and is assigned to Post 8 in Morehead. This investigation is continuing by Detective Scott Sandlin of the Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
