Myrtle Atwell, Age 85
Myrtle Atwell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Van Cleveland Underwood and Lennie Agnes Allen Underwood, was born August 12, 1925, in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 3:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Cecil Atwell July 10, 1943. He preceded her in death May 11, 1998.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Charles Atwell and Danny Atwell and wife, Christine of Buffalo, Josephine Caulk and husband, Glenn, Harold Atwell and wife, Darlene and Jo Ann Sprowles and husband, Foster of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Chandler Underwood of Buffalo and Mary Henderson of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Glen Atwell April 4, 1976 and David Atwell in infancy; one grandson, Jason Edward Atwell June 18, 1975; and four brothers and three sisters: Freda Thompson, Lucille Warren, Detrus Underwood, Sammie Underwood, Willie Underwood, Dewey Underwood, and Bernie Howard Underwood.
