Ira Lawson, Age 90
Ira Lawson of Campbellsville, son of the late General Lawson and Lina Thomas Lawson, was born January 7, 1920, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:15 P.M., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 90
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
He united in marriage to Mary Barnett February 14, 1942.
Besides his wife, Mary B. Lawson of Campbellsville, he is survived by three daughters and two sons: Geraldine Brewer and husband, Willard, Dorothy Little and husband, Earl, Jerry Lawson and wife, Helen and Terry Lawson and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville and Betty Nations and husband, Buster of Milsap, Texas; four grandchildren: Ricky Brewer and wife, Lara, Todd Little, Dana Williams and husband, Ricky and Kristin Trent and husband, John; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Ora Mae Barnett of Campbellsville, Fannie Mae Thomas and Shirley Graybeal of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ira Kenneth Lawson in infancy; three brothers, Junior Lawson, Jesse Lawson and Chester Lawson; a half-brother, Jim Henry Lawson and a half-sister, Bessie Lee Wade.
