Leona Hicks Cable, 85
Leona Hicks Cable of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Benjamin Hicks and Essie Faye Hayes Hicks, was born September 20, 1925 in Boone, North Carolina. She died at 3:01 A.M., Friday December 3, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She had been an employee of Monson’s and Parks Belk Department Stores.
She united in marriage to Richard Cable September 22, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2007.
She is survived by one son, Jimmie Cable of Campbellsville; three granddaughters: Gina Wilber of Wagener, South Carolina, Libby Wright of Leesville, South Carolina and Misty Hughes of Bowling Green; five great-grandchildren: Jamie Wilber, T.J. Mays, Brittany Mays, Logan Hughes and Lindsey Hughes; one great-great-granddaughter, E’Moni Elizabeth Vasser; three sisters and one brother: Earlene Holtzclaw and Janet Osborne of Campbellsville, Ruth Greer of Knifley and Lloyd Hicks of Carrollton, Georgia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda Cable; a brother and two sisters: Lewis Hicks, Gertrude Bright and Mrs. Bennie Warren.
