CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (AMW) – Three people have been arrested in connection with a pair of alleged home invasions, the second of which police say took place in the middle of a high-speed pursuit.

Donald G. “Donnie” Brockman, 42, of Lexington, Timothy Ray Curry, 31, of Campbellsville and Jacquelyn Renee Smith, 25, also of Campbellsville, were arrested today on burglary charges following a police chase which lasted nearly an hour.

Police said they lost sight of the suspects’ vehicle at one point in the chase. Kentucky State Police spokesman Billy Gregory said the fugitives had pulled the vehicle in behind a Green County residence and forced their way into the home.

They were confronted by an armed resident, Gregory said, and fled back to their vehicle while the assailant loaded more AR-15 magazines. It’s as-yet unclear whether anyone suffered a gunshot wound.

Taylor County authorities had informed state police early Wednesday that they were searching for a white Chevrolet Camaro believed to be involved in an early-morning home invasion, according to Gregory.

Gregory said a Taylor County sheriff’s deputy located the Camaro Z28 around 9 a.m. ET and began pursuing it.

Officers from at least six agencies eventually joined the pursuit as the suspects fled from Taylor to Green County, then back into Taylor County. Gregory said KSP used a spiked “Stinger” tire deflation device to disable the Camaro.

The suspects’ vehicle came to rest in a ditch off Nancy Cox Drive. The fugitive trio then fled the vehicle on foot, Gregory said, but were quickly apprehended.

Curry and Smith were lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center. A jail spokesman said Brockman was hospitalized, but Taylor Regional Hospital charge nurse Marissa Holmes refused to confirm Brockman’s status Wednesday night.

Holmes said all questions would have to be answered “in the morning” by hospital public relations director Cindy Rose. TRH’s privacy policy – available publicly on the hospital’s Web site – permits release of general condition information to anyone who asks for a patient by name, unless that patient has provided the hospital with a written objection.

Taylor County Sheriff John Shipp said earlier in the day that Brockman’s injuries did not seem to be life-threatening.

Brockman is originally from Campbellsville.

(Kentucky State Police Press Release)

Three people have been arrested following a pursuit through two counties that lasted almost one hour and involved 20 plus law enforcement officers from 5 different agencies.  The Kentucky State Police have arrested 42-year-old Donald G. Brockman of Lexington, 25-year-old Jacquelyn Renee Smith of Campbellsville and 31-year-old Timothy Ray Curry of Campbellsville and charged all three with Burglary 2nd degree.

At approximately 7:57 CST Post 15 received a call from the Taylor County 911 center advising that they were working a home invasion and had a description of a white 98-99 Chevy Camaro as a suspect vehicle with 2 males and 1 female passenger.  Within minutes of the first call, they notified Post 15 that a Taylor County Deputy was in pursuit of the vehicle.

Over the course of the next 57 minutes, Troopers, Detectives and CVE units from Post 15, officers with the Green County Sheriff’s Office and Greensburg Police Department and officers with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and Campbellsville Police Department converged on the suspect vehicle.  The Kentucky State Police were able to deploy a Stinger Tire Deflation Device at KY 0210 and the KY 3183 which effectively slowed the suspect vehicle.

At one point during the pursuit, units lost sight of the suspect vehicle when the driver pulled behind a residence on Winding Ridge Road in Green County.  In an attempt to avoid the police they forced their way into a residence where they were confronted by a home owner.  The homeowner discharged a firearm at them, forcing the suspects back into the car and onto the highway enabling law enforcement to re-engage in the pursuit.

The suspects made it to a church parking lot off of Meador Street in Campbellsville where they were all three apprehended following a short foot pursuit. All three suspects will be lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.  The investigation is on going and additional charges are expected.

If anyone has any additional information regarding this incident please contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555.
