Vontress Jones, Age 82
Vontress Jones of Campbellsville, son of the late Henry Jones and Maude McCubbin Jones was born in Green County, Kentucky, August 8, 1928. He died at 12:30 A.M., Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Campbellsville. Age: 82 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a well known TV repairman for many years.
He united in marriage to Hattie Kendall who preceded him in death.
He united in marriage to Gladys Hudson Hedgespeth November 9, 1977.
Besides his wife, Gladys Jones of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and two daughters: Denny Hedgespeth and wife, Rita and Kathy Vance and husband, Glenn of Campbellsville, and Janet Valentine and husband, Larry of Louisville; one step-son, Michael Roberts and wife, Anita of Louisville; eight grandchildren: Shaun Scott, Chasity Malone, C. J. Hedgespeth, Amber Ervin, Kellie Cash, Lacey Priddy, Jake Graham, Jon-Micah Graham; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers: David Jones and wife, Johnette and Milton Jones and wife, Geraldine of Campbellsville, and Lt. Gen. (Retired) Donald Jones and wife, Betty of Killeen, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Mings.
