Former Mayor Brenda Allen Named as Executive Director of The Healing Place
The Healing Place of Campbellsville would like to announce the addition of Brenda Allen as the Executive Director and Shannon Gray as Program Director.
Allen served as the Mayor of Campbellsville from 2003-2010. During that time she was instrumental to the start of The Healing Place (formally known as the Alternative Recovery Center) from site selection to getting the project off the ground. She will join the staff on February 1, 2011.
“Brenda brings her passion, dedication and empathy to this position,” says Jay Davidson, Founder, President and CEO of The Healing Place. “This will make her a tremendous asset to The Healing Place of Campbellsville and the Campbellsville community.”
Allen served as City Clerk from 1999-2002 and in the President’s Office at Campbellsville University from 1995-1999. She was awarded the BPW Woman of the Year in 1985, 1992, and 2002. She is currently a member of the Campbellsville Business and Professional Women’s Club, Habitat for Humanity, Campbellsville Housing Authority, Greater Campbellsville United, Green River Ministries, Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (Governor’s Appointment), and the KBEMS Executive Committee.
In addition, Allen serves as an Executive Board Member of Kentucky Heartland Outreach, the Chair of the Executive Board for the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, a member of the Kentucky League of Cities Site Selection Committee, and Ex-officio member of the Campbellsville Renaissance/Main Street Project.
Gray is a certified alcohol and drug counselor and has been working in the field of addiction for nine years. He has been an alumni of The Healing Place since July of 2001.
