Robert L. Miller, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Martin K. Miller and Birdie Mae Baumgardner Miller, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 24, 1927. He died at 8:10 P.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 in Campbellsville. Age: 83
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of Gideons International.
He was a trustee at Lindsey Wilson College, licensed land surveyor and awarded the Silver Beaver Award with the Boy Scouts of America.
He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmission Company and a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was former Mayor of Campbellsville for thirty-three years. He united in marriage to Bernice Chapman August 31, 1947. She preceded him in death December 1, 2000. He united in marriage to Jeania Judd May 17, 2002.
Besides his wife, Jeania Judd Miller of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and two daughters: Robert L. Miller, Jr. and wife Elsie of Campbellsville, Terri Barnes and husband Tom of Louisville, and Cindy Brooks and husband Jim of College Station, Texas; eight grandchildren: Robert L. Miller III and wife Heather, Sarah Tamm and husband Michael, Julie Hall and husband Tom, Jimmy Brooks, Thomas Barnes, Jr. and wife Tiffany, Andrew Brooks and wife Jackie, Kate Barnes, and Daniel Brooks and wife Megan; six great-grandchildren; Jeania’s children: Darla Decker and Jon Judd of Greensburg and Dana Judd of Harrodsburg and families; two sisters-in-law: Anita Miller of Campbellsville and Olive Miller of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers
