Ralph Moss, age 94
Ralph Moss, 94, of Conyers, Georgia, formerly of Campbellsville, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Abbey Hospice where he was surrounded in love.
Born October 28, 1920, on a farm in Campbellsville, he was the son of late Thomas Guinn and Emma Thomas Skaggs Moss. Ralph was a retired farmer and member of Salem Baptist Church. Ralph lived in Campbellsville until 2011 when he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Georgia to live with their daughter and her family.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Riley Moss.
He is also survived by 2 sons, Paul Thomas and his wife Judy of Lexington and Richard Dudley of Louisville, as well as a daughter, Janice Moss-Brown and her husband, Gregory, of Conyers, Georgia; 3 grandchildren, P.J., AnnaGrace and MayaFaith, and one great grandson, Zachary. He is also survived by one brother, Hugh Moss and his wife, Betty of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Moss, who perished in 1941 while serving his country in WWII.
Ralph loved his family, his God and church, and the land he farmed and cared for for so many years. Ralph was a hard worker and he loved his community. While in Taylor County, where he lived for 90 years of his 94 years, he never met a stranger and was known and loved by many.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at Lyon-Dewitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Revs. Michael Goodwin, Al Hardy and Ken Foreman officiating over the service. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
The family request visitation prior to the service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
