Tony “Big Daddy” Stubbs, age 78

Tony “Big Daddy” Stubbs, age 78, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his home.

Tony was born on August 31, 1937 in Taylor County to the late Curry and Virginia Sallee Stubbs.  He was a member of Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed farming, auto racing, especially NASCAR and tractor pulls.  He liked making fried apple pies and just loved to talk to anybody he could find to talk to, but most of all he enjoyed being Grandpa to the grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Clark Stubbs; a daughter, Tammy Angela Wright and her husband, Matt; a son, T. P. Stubbs and his wife, Gidget, all of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Dawn Turner and her husband, Jon, Kristy Bennett and her husband, Mark, Misty Wooldridge and her husband, Richard and Klein Stubbs and six great-grandchildren, Callie and Cade Turner, Lydia Bennett, Blayne Dickerson, Cole Wright and Mia Wooldridge.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Elizabeth and Buster Allen.

A Celebration of the Life of Tony Stubbs will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family request visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hosparus Green River or the Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Fund which may be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
