JoAnn Wessel, 85
Mrs. JoAnn (Nichols) Wessel of Campbellsville was born in Louisville to the late Amos and Lucy Nichols on December 28, 1930 and departed this life on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 85 years, 8 months, and 26 days of age. Mrs. Wessel professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. She was a strong-willed lady, always full of class, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed intelligent conversations with anyone, but was a loyal Democrat. Always kind, she rescued many animals, some of whom remained companions for life.

Her furry friends: Honey Girl, Maggie, Rocky, Nikita, Angel, and Flappy,
And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters: Charles Nichols, Bill Nichols, Pauline Reid, Jeanne Banks, and Margaret Elder.
There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Wessel on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 26, from 6:00 PM EST until time for the service.
