Paul Simpson, 93

Mr. Paul Charles Simpson, a resident of Bluegrass Way in Campbellsville, formerly of Walton, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Reamy and Minnie (Hammond) Simpson, and was one of five children born into this union. Mr. Simpson was 93 years and 20 days of age when he was called to his eternal home. He professed faith in Christ and was an elder in the Walton Christian Church. He married Dorothy McMillian on March 25, 1945, and they shared their lives until her passing in 2009. Mr. Simpson answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a tail gunner in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He had a strong belief in honor and duty, two traits that were evidenced in his both his private and public lives. He was a former mayor of Walton, and a retiree of Cincinnati Gas and Electric / Duke Energy. His kind and caring spirit will not only be missed by his family, but also the communities he touched.

He leaves to carry his legacy:

Three children: Donna Crawford of Walton, Michael Simpson and companion Marice Kunz of Scottsdale, AZ, and Karla Gamble of Cincinnati, OH,

Six grandchildren: Samantha Burch and husband John of Campbellsville, Kalli Kunz of Scottsdale, AZ, Kara Leavitt and husband Tanner of Scottsdale, AZ, Andrew Crawford and companion Amber Rich of Elsmere, KY, Nicholas Gamble of Seattle, WA, and Rebecca Gamble of Cincinnati, OH,

Ten great-grandchildren: Morgan Melvin and husband Daniel, Alexandra Burch, Christopher Burch, Kayleigh Burch, Anneliese Crawford, Kyla Gamble, Austin Crawford, Jordan Gamble, Lotus Furrey, and Kaleo Leavitt,

And a host of extended family and friends.

Mr. Simpson preferred cremation, and those rites were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. There was no public visitation. Mr. Simpson had requested to be buried with his wife, and together they will be interred in the Walton Cemetery at a later date.LRPETTY LOGO
