Marilyn Viers, age 64, of Elk Horn

Marilyn Viers, age 64, of Elk Horn died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville following and extended illness.

Marilyn was born on January 6, 1952 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late John Robert and Blanche Bonnie Morris Doss.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Wells and brothers, Stephen Doss, Dennis Doss and Michael Ray Doss.

Marilyn had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Stoner Creek United Methodist Church.  She loved being Mom and Grandma and found pleasure in cooking and caring for her family.  She enjoyed spending spare time writing poetry and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, William Henry Viers; a son and his wife, Jim and Lisa Reaves Viers, of Elk Horn, a grand-daughter, Brittany Viers; a great-granddaughter, Lily Jo Marie Reaves and bonus grandchildren, Jeffrey Simpson, James Simpson and Kelli Simpson.  Also surviving are her two sisters and their husbands, Alice and Neil Vandiver, Louisville and Bonnie and Freddy Thompson of Big Springs, KY; a brother and his wife, Bill and Debbie Doss of Payneville, KY and other special people in her life, Sarah McDonald, Ashley Shaw and Alea Smith who were like grandchildren to her.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 12th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. John Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in Callahan Cemetery.

The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 pm Friday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
