Alex F. Young
Alex F. Young of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Alexander “Jack” Young and Grace Frances Pike Young, was born June 5, 1949, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He died at 1:52 P.M., Monday, November 21, 2016 in Lawrenceburg. Age: 67
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a former Jefferson County Police Officer and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from Senator Mitch McConnell. After moving to Lawrenceburg, he worked with the Department of Emergency Services in Frankfort where he retired. Alex was a devout member of the NRA, loved to shoot guns and earned his private pilot license for single engine airplanes.
He is survived by one son and one daughter: A. J. Young and wife, Amy of Pewee Valley and Amanda Minteer of Crestwood; one grandson, Bryson Minteer of Crestwood; one sister, Viella Ellis of Mt. Vernon; mother of his children, Peggy Young Carper of Louisville; many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Young August 22, 2000.
