James “Jimmy” Franklin of Lexington, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Claude Franklin and Rena Belle Shipp Franklin, was born December 18, 1935, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 9:25 A.M., Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Lexington.
Age: 80
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a farmer.
He united in marriage to Norma Jean Barnett October 5, 1957
Besides his wife, Norma Jean Franklin of Lexington, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kaye and Brian Hinton of Campbellsville; one grandson, Brandon Skaggs and wife, April of Lexington; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Reese Skaggs of Lexington; one sister, Frances Franklin of Blacklick, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
James was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters: Charles “Cotton” Franklin, Junior Franklin, Betty Sharp and Virginia Bear.
