Edith Chloe Harris Mariz

edith-mariz-001Edith Chloe Harris Mariz of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Finley Ferguson and Grace Piper Ferguson, was born October 28, 1928, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. She died at 11:45 P.M., Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 88
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.
Edith was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was described as a very classy lady. This was probably due to her extensive collection of jewelry and ladies’ fashion hats. It was only natural that she was involved in the Red Hatters Club and Taylor Regional Hospital Auxillary. Her love of fashion was very evident in the way she cared for and coordinated her closet.
She united in marriage to Earl L. Mariz May 4, 1984 and he preceded her in death June 8, 2006.
She is survived by four daughters: Debbie Edwards and husband, Ricky and Tonya Young and husband, Tony of Campbellsville, Nelda Beard and husband, Russell of Knifley and Lisa Land and husband, Mitchell of Louisville; six grandchildren: Troy Young and wife, Erica, Tyler Young and wife, Jacquelyn, Delena Nolley and husband, Vince and Derek Edwards and wife, Nikki of Campbellsville, Bobbie Ford and husband, Doug of Knifley and Patrick Edwards and wife, Kayla of Louisville; five great-grandchildren: Aubrey Grace Young, Madalyn Nolley, Wyatt Nolley, Kynleigh Paige Young, and Harper Claire Young all of Campbellsville; one brother and one sister: Dalton Ferguson and Mary Ellen Jeffries of Savoyard, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Edith was also preceded in death by a son, Freddie Harris; a great-grandson, Gabe Young and a brother, James Ferguson, Jr.
