Ora Mae Barnett

Ora Mae Barnett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late General Lawson and Lina Thomas Lawson, was born November 20, 1922 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 94
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church.
In the summer you could find Ora Mae working in the yard, gardening and canning fresh vegetables. Another favorite pastime was mowing the yard with her new lawn mower. Hard work was something that she did not mind and came natural. She enjoyed cooking and her home made meals will be greatly missed.
She united in marriage to Everett “Dude” Barnett in March of 1942 and he preceded her in death January 12, 2009.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Thomas Barnett and wife, Patsy, Michael Barnett and wife, Fredia and Wanda Perkins and husband, William of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Stephanie Wingler and husband, Anthony of Alabama, Melissa Followell of Elizabethtown, Tanya Perkins of Campbellsville, and Alan-Michael Barnett of Nashville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren: Kristen Stanley of Georgia, Brandon Wingler of Alabama, Samantha Followell and Tyler Followell of Elizabethtown; two great-great-grandchildren: Colton Followell and Samuel Price; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Wayne Atwell December 23, 1994; three brothers and two sisters: General Lawson, Jr., Ira Lawson, Jessie Lawson, Shirley Graybeal and Fannie Thomas; one half-brother, Jim Henry Gribbins and one half-sister, Bessie Wade.
