Sandra Sue Southern, 74
Mrs. Sandra Sue Southern of Campbellsville was born in Green County on February 2, 1943 to the late Harold and Rosie (Elmore) Milby. She entered into rest on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at her home after an extended illness, being 74 years, 3 months, and 14 days of age. Mrs. Southern professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville, and was a homemaker to and wife of Mr. James Southern, Sr., who survives. She spent countless hours outside working or raising a garden, and enjoyed finding bargains at area yard sales. When inside, she kept her mind occupied by playing bingo on her computer or watching Family Feud, and was passionate about keeping up with her friends and family on FaceBook. Her long talks and late night cups of coffee with her family will be forever cherished.

Three children: Kaye Milby and husband Ricky of Green County, James Southern, Jr. and companion Tammy Childers of Campbellsville, and Mark Southern and wife Amy of Campbellsville,
Three siblings: Holland Milby and wife Patty, Mike Milby, Sr., and Sharon Sharp and husband Randall, all of Campbellsville,
Five grandchildren: Jordyn Southern, Caleb Southern, Kyndal Southern, Amy Barr, and Chris Wingler,
Five great-grandchildren,
Several nieces and nephews,
And a host of extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Marcum and Doris Adelle Keltner.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Southern on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 12:00 PM EST (11:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Jason Keltner will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 17, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 CST).
