Norma Jean Russell Rogers – Age 87

Norma Jean Russell Rogers, age 87, formerly of Campbellsville, died, Monday, May 29, 2017 in Sarasota, Florida after an illness.

Norma Jean was born on April 9, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late James and Boyd Stewart Davis.     Also, preceding her in death was her beloved husband of many years, and father of their children, Robert Lee Russell.   She later married Richard Rogers who is also predeceased.

She loved her family, friends and neighbors with whom many she attended church at Green River Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member.    Prior to moving to Florida, you would often find her outside enjoying her garden, watching the hummingbirds or mowing her grass.    Her greatest love was her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her Me Maw.

Norma Jean is survived by her two daughters, Connie Russell of Campbellsville and Bonnie Ford and her husband Byron of Riverview, Florida.   Also surviving are her grandchildren, Bryan Akin and wife Wendi of Campbellsville, Nikki Dennis and husband Adam of Oldham County, Courtney Isaacs of Louisville, Kelly Isaacs and companion Travis Barnes of Hart County, Jennifer Frantz and husband Matthew of Lutz, Florida, Stefanie Hancock and husband Marcus of Tampa, Florida, as well as nine great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.    Besides a host of relative and friends, she was survived by one special cousin, Sarah Hubbard of Campbellsville.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Green River Memorial Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Don Gowin and Bro. Jamie Bennett.  Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. at the church.       Memorial Contributions are requested to be donations for Gideon Bibles and can be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home or at Green River Memorial Baptist Church on the day of the service.
