Dallas Gumm, 82
Mr. Dallas Dean “Buck” Gumm of Campbellsville was born on November 10, 1937 to the late Alfred and Mattie (Seaborne) Gumm. He departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 82 years, 1 month, and 25 days of age. He was a forklift operator for the American Saw and Tool Company and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gumm was an avid outdoorsman, and he had a passion for hunting and fishing. When season wasn’t in and he wasn’t watching a NASCAR race, he could usually be found out sightseeing in his Jeep.
He leaves to mourn his passing:
Two children: Jimmy Gumm and wife Donna of Louisville, and Elizabeth Gumm of Campbellsville,
Five siblings: Christine Forrest of Franklin, Indiana, Nellie Livesay of Campbellsville, Peggy Houk of Campbellsville, Carol McClure of Campbellsville, and Irene Barnett of Munfordville,
One granddaughter: Amber Holland and husband Travis of Louisville,
Four great-grandchildren: Devon Holland, Jamie Holland, Brandon Monroe, and Tyler Holland,
And a host of other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three siblings: Johnny Gumm, Haskel Gumm, and Imogene Harris; a nephew: Donnie Livesay; and two great-nephews: Greg Vanpelt and Jeffrey Forrest.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Gumm on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Paul Dicken will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 8, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
