Mary Frances Bright, 99
Mrs. Mary Frances Bright of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Dan and Lillian (Howell) Smothers, was born September 7, 1921 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at her home. She was 99 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville Christian Church and had retired after 30 years of service at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bright, in 2006; two sons: Mike Bright and Horace Mitchell Bright; a brother: Raymond Smothers; and three sisters: Kathleen Walls, Sarah Mayes, and Edith Raikes.
Survivors include:
Five children: Roger Bright and wife Pauline, Wanda Bramel and husband Roy, Brenda Wise, Judy Grooms, and Ricky Bright and wife Stella, all of Campbellsville, and Gayle Freeman and husband Jim of Virginia;
Twelve grandchildren: Barry Bright, Libby Ann Sallee, Curt Bramel, Steve Bramel, Michelle Ingram, Jimbo Wise, Janet Miller, Robert “Robbie” Grooms, Karen Singleton, Mark Freeman, Adam Bright, and Benjamin Bright;
Four great-grandchildren;
Three great-great grandchildren;
And a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bright on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Kenny Dotson and Bro. Jim Freeman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 4, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
