Margie Hughes
Margie Hughes of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clyde Gilpin and Sally B. “Hardwick” Gilpin, was born on October 13, 1935 in Casey County, Kentucky.
Margie departed this life peacefully at 2:52 P.M., on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Age: 85
She married Orville J. Hughes on March 22, 1958. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years together, until his passing on January 25, 2015.
Margie professed her faith in Christ and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She worked as a homemaker and believed in being a selfless servant, assisting others brought her great joy. She loved music and singing; being active in church and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Margie is survived by two daughters and one son: Linda Faye and Charlene Gabbert, both of Campbellsville and Andy Hughes and wife Becky of Westfield, Indiana; three grandchildren: David Allen Gabbert and wife, Jessica of Campbellsville, Chelsea Frazier and husband, Seth of Westfield, IN, and Graham Hughes and fiancé, Megan Mishler of Carmel, IN; four great-grandchild: Zachary Gabbert and Evan Gabbert both of Campbellsville, Beckett Frazier and Sutton Frazier, both of Westfield, IN; special friends, Suzanne and Hearl Roberts and Jerril Bloodworth; and, many other relatives and friends.
Margie was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother: Helen Spradlin, Judy Buck, Teresa Bright, and Ronald Gilpin.
VISITATION: for Margie Hughes is 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL: to follow at 1 P.M. at Auberry Funeral Home, with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
