Eugene Mardis

Eugene Mardis of Campbellsville, son of the late Lemuel Mardis and Mattie Farmer Mardis, was born October 29, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:55 A.M., Monday, March 7, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.
Eugene was retired from Heating and Air Conditioning work and had worked for nine years at Campbellsville Indepemdent School System.
He took pride in keeping his yard looking good and loved visiting with his grandchildren.
He united in marriage to Nellie Wade June 9, 1956.
Besides his wife, Nellie Mardis of Campbellsville, Eugene is survived by one daughter and three sons: Charlene Becker and husband, Jeff of Burnett, Wisconsin, Gary Mardis and wife, Karen, Timmy Mardis and wife, Janet and David Mardis and wife, Gena of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren: Karen Swanson and husband, Travis, Sylvia Westra and husband, Joe, Sasha Jones and husband, Justin, Mason Mardis and wife, Erica, Justin Mardis and wife, Sara, Katie Firquin and husband, Jon, Aidan Mardis and Lily Mardis; ten great-grandchildren: Miranda Morse, Kaylee Morse, Alyssa Westra, Clayton Westra, Cohen Westra, Anniston Jones, Addleigh Mardis, Leighton Mardis, Addi Mardis and Max Mardis, one great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn Ball; one brother, Harold Mardis and wife, Euonia and one sister, Frances Lee of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Eugene was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers: Marie Short, Arlene Willis, Dorothy Mardis, Irene Short, Ed Mardis, Clinton Mardis and William “Bill” Mardis.
