Orville Smith
Orville Smith, 78, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late James Smith and Edith Pennington Smith, was born May 26th, 1943, in Hardin County, Kentucky and departed this life Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, at Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was a hardworking man and started his own business doing tree removals. He started Green Acres Tree Removal in Illinois then came to Campbellsville and started Ray’s Tree Removal. Orville was known by many people and was loved dearly. Many knew him for his love of boots and several people called him “Boots” for this very reason. He was a loving husband, father, brother, papaw, and friend. He will be loved and missed by many.
Orville united in marriage to Faye Smith in 1961, who preceded her death on September 16th, 2010.
Orville is survived by:
One daughter: Bonnie Smith Cross, of Campbellsville.
Four grandchildren: Raymond Carl Fowler IV and his wife, Jessica, of Louisville; Rodney Joseph Tyler Cross, of San Diego California; Rebecca Faye Cassie Cross, of Lexington; and Jacqueline Nicole Cross, of Lexington.
Four great-grandchildren: Raymond Carl Fowler V, of Louisville; Halle Reese Cross, of Campbellsville; Levi Henry Fowler, of Louisville; and Athena Rose Leggins, of Campbellsville.
Two brothers: Jimmy Dale Smith, and his wife, Sandy, of Greensburg; and Roger Smith, of Indiana.
Two sisters: Beulah Ann Smith, of Illinois; and Linda Sue Williams, and her husband, Paul, of Illinois.
Besides his parents and wife, Orville is preceded in death by two beloved children: Brenda Sue Smith, 2008, and Timothy Orville Smith, 2020.
VISITATION: Saturday, April 9th, 2022, from 5pm-8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL: Sunday, April 10th, 2022, at 1pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
Burial to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
