Ronald L. “Ronnie” Lemmon
Ronald L. “Ronnie” Lemmon of Campbellsville, son of the late John Shelby Lemmon and Bettie Ann Brockman Lemmon, was born August 15, 1942 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:12 A.M., Friday, August 26, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 80
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Ronnie never met a stranger and loved telling hitchhiking stories from when he was in the Navy to and from Florida to Kentucky or to and from Maine where he was stationed.
Ronnie was a retired supervisor with Parker-Kalon. He was a member of the Grave Yard Relics Car Club and the American Legion Post #82.
He loved boating, fishing, camping and traveling. In the last 4-5 years, Ronnie had grown to love rat rods. Rat rods are an old truck or car that is pieced together by using parts from another truck or car or whatever can be found, whether it be a coffee can for cupholders or lawnmower seats for seats.
He loved putting his boat in the Ohio River and traveling up and down the river. He once put in, along with several buddies, and traveled seven days and through six states and was featured in Heartland Boating Magazine. Ronnie would like to thank his crew for standing up behind him and going on his boat trips on the river to Florida.
He is survived by one son, Troy Lemmon of Campbellsville; two granddaughters: Shelbi Bohanna Lemmon and Shayli Brae Lemmon; two great-grandchildren: Adleigh Bo Carter and Sawyer Ridge Ellis; one brother-in-law, Ancil Reynolds; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Ronnie loved his grandkids even though he didn’t get to see them in the last few years. He also loved his great-grandkids, whom he never had a chance to meet.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Jewell Dean Lemmon Reynolds and Carmen Malone.
