Ernest “Ernie” Greer, 71

Ernest Kay “Ernie” Greer, of Campbellsville, the son of the late G.G. “Gibb” and Marie (Harden) Greer, was born September 15, 1951 in Taylor County and departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his home. He was 71 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bible Baptist Tabernacle in Campbellsville where he has served as head usher for 40 years.

He was a former factory worker at GE, Fruit of the Loom and Ingersoll Rand maintenance and operated a mowing business.

Ernie as he was mostly called, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, crafting, NASCAR, traveling and most of all spending time with family.

He united in marriage on January 29, 1971 to Peggy (Richerson) Greer, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons: Michael Dale Greer and wife Cheryl of Bowling Green and Travis Kent Greer and wife Lindsay of Campbellsville; two sisters: Shirley Marie Cox of Campbellsville and his twin: Evelyn Gay Bault and husband Garry of Casey Creek; his fur baby: Max and two grand dogs: Grady and Roxy.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers: Louise Thompson, Iza Payton, Irene Greer, Herman, Joseph, Kermit and Eddie Greer.

The funeral service for Ernest Kay “Ernie” Greer, will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bible Baptist Tabernacle with burial to follow in the Harden Cemetery at Knifley.

Bro. Bob Cutler will be officiating.

Family requests visitation from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the donation of Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home or at the church.
