Mr. Harold Wayne Acree of Campbellsville, son of the late Gilbert Hulse and Nettie Mae (Shirley) Acree, passed from this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Green County, KY on March 21, 1952, he was 71 years, 4 months, and 27 days of age. Mr. Acree was a devout member of Truth Tabernacle UPCI, having been water baptized in Jesus’ name, and later received the gift of the Holy Ghost at a church camp in Freetown, Indiana in June 2022. He was a retiree of Ingersoll Rand, having worked over 42 years, primarily in the Special Build department.

Mr. Acree spent his life teaching his family the Godly values of a devoted and conservative lifestyle, and he lived his own as a daily example. Though his hobbies (and opinions) were many, he will long be remembered for the unwavering love and tenderness he had for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife of 51 years, Betty Jean (Boils) Acree,

Two children: Tim Acree and wife Keshia of Bardstown, and Tracey Grady and husband Stephen of Campbellsville,

Six grandchildren: Seth Acree, Hannah Acree, Micah Acree, Luke Acree, Kadyn Grady, and Bailor Grady,

Three sisters: Carolyn Boils and husband Donnie of Campbellsville, Rebecca “Becky” Taylor and husband Larry of Indiana, and Sandra Justice and husband Chuck of Campbellsville,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Acree on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM EDT (12:00 PM CDT) in the sanctuary of the Truth Tabernacle UPCI, 4607 Old Lebanon Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Pastor Raymond Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jesus Name Church Cemetery, Tabernacle Rd, Campbellsville.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, August 21, from 5:00-8:00 PM EDT (4:00-7:00 PM CDT), and on Tuesday after 11:00 AM EST until time for the service.

L.R. Petty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
