Brenda Charlene Stewart Harmon, 82, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, entered Heaven’s gates on August 05, 2024, while residing at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky and Village Manor, a Christian Care Community. Born April 16, 1942, in Bell Co. Kentucky, she was the only child of the late parents Guy and Malta Stewart.

She was a graduate of Middlesboro High School, Class of 1960. She enrolled and attended Eastern Kentucky State College and later transferred and graduated from East Tennessee State University – a Home Econ major by trade and practice, and a Homemaker and Mom through the years.

Brenda made her profession of faith and was baptized as a youth in Bell County and later married at First Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She married the Campus Cop from EKU on September 1, 1963, the late Howard J. Harmon of Springfield, Kentucky and celebrated 51 years of marriage until he entered Heaven October 18, 2014.

She grew in her faith and she and Howard attended Campbellsville Baptist Church where she served the Lord as a GA (Girls in Action) and Acteen’s leader with the young ladies, and later with her husband as Youth Group leaders in the 1980s.

After moving to Bowling Green and wintering in Deerfield Beach, FL in 2004, Brenda faithfully attended and enjoyed worshiping at Living Hope Baptist Church and Boca Glades Baptist Church respectively. She never gave up on her faith and never stop studying the Bible through many various Women’s Bible and Co-Ed Sunday School groups. She would like a special recognition to Mr. Steve and Mrs. Gail Henry and the members of her Sunday School class.

Brenda was most notably one of the best cooks in our friend circle. Family and friends alike loved her passion and abilities and the country style cooking she would effortlessly dish out, at the drop of a hat; or full supper spread from nothing but her garden and farm supplies; or the late-night breakfast meal for a group of kids that came for a late-night swim and opened the kitchen just because we showed up hungry, well past her bedtime.

One thing you could always count on is a sweet dessert to end the meal. Cinnamon rolls, a favorite fruit cobbler, coconut or chocolate pie or a bottomless container of oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies.

“Ms. H” was a Mom to us all, at one time or another. Some of us more often than we care to admit, but with her resources and time, she was always more than generous to us all. We shared our lives with Mom and she always made sure that we knew we could always count on her for whatever was required. For an only child, she provided all of us kids and grandkids with a multitude of aunts and uncles from college roommates and peers and high school sorority sisters to distant cousins that supported us and made us a part of their own families. To you all, a heartfelt thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have been and always will be our family.

Brenda is survived by her children, Mollie L. Harmon Brennan (Husband – Buck) and Howard Stewart Harmon (Wife – Lisa); and four grandchildren, Taylor Brennan, Emma Harmon, Lake Brennan and Anderson Parke Brennan.

Celebration of Life services will be held August 7, 2024 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Services to begin at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Cemetery Hill located in Springfield Kentucky immediately after the Celebration of Life.
