Arlene Ferguson Simpson
Arlene Ferguson Simpson, born on October 13, 1932 in Knifley, Kentucky, entered Heaven’s gates on August 5, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
She was of the Baptist faith and one of the founders of Meadowview Baptist Church.
She retired from Fruit of the Loom after thirty years. During her retirement, she became the glue that held together the family business, B & W Auto Sales.
She was born in Knifley, Kentucky, to Ores and Rachel Ferguson. Growing up, she had a very close relationship with her siblings and grandparents. Arlene was named “Punk” at a very young age and it followed her through life. “Punk” graduated from Adair County High School.
Punk met the love of her life, Welby Simpson, during high school and they later married on October 8, 1950. She supported Welby while he pursued his dreams. His dreams soon became their dreams as they built a very successful family business.
Punk and Welby welcomed their only son, Jeffrey Alan Simpson, on August 22, 1952. From an early age, Jeff followed in his father’s footsteps and later took over the family business.
Survivors include her husband, Welby Russell Simpson; one son, Jeffrey Alan Simpson and wife, Sue Simpson; two granddaughters: Laura Adams and Beth Turner and husband, Brandon Turner; seven great-grandchildren: Bryce Steele, Brylee Adams, Haleigh Collison and husband, Josh Collison, Lily Murphy, Ryder Murphy, Brystol Simpson and Paysley Turner; one great-great-grandson, Russell Collison and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Doug Ferguson and one sister, Virginia Grant.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will held Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. Rev. J. Alvin Hardy will officiate. Entombment will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
