Gordon Perkins, 80
Gordon Perkins of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Elmer L. Perkins and Ethel Pearl Poff Perkins, was born in Campbellsville, KY, on April 30, 1944, and departed this life on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his residence. He was 80 years of age.
He professed faith in Christ and attended the Whites Ridge General Baptist Church. He was a retired Maintenance Mechanic. He had served his country honorably in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed music and was very good at playing the guitar, bass, and many other instruments and enjoyed recording. He also enjoyed tinkering, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Wanda Sue Humphress Perkins of Campbellsville, and two children: Timothy Perkins and wife Mary of Trafalgar, IN, and Robin Reedy and husband Matt of Freetown, IN. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren on one expected great-grandchild.
Also surviving are one brother and sister, Perline Humphress and Bobby Perkins (Linda) of Knifley and, a special friend, Lillie Stephens.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Larry Gordon Perkins and several siblings: Tommy Perkins, Jackie Perkins, Donnie Perkins, and Terry Perkins.
The funeral for Gordon Perkins will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Dickie Rogers will officiate.
The family has requested visitation on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 10:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
