Hollis Brockman
Hollis Brockman of Campbellsville, son of the late Harry Weldon Brockman, Sr. and Nancy Jane Curry Brockman, was born June 1, 1940 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 12:04 P.M., Friday, October 25, 2024 in Louisville. Age: 84
Hollis professed faith in Christ, was a member and served as a deacon at Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. Following Hollis’ retirement at Fruit of the Loom, he opened Brockman Carpets, Inc. He took pride in his family owned and operated flooring business over the years. He enjoyed being home on Holly Hope Farm, tending to his farm land and registered Angus cattle.
Above all, Hollis loved and cherished his family. He especially loved being surrounded by his granddaughters and great grandchildren, they brought him immense pride and joy. Hollis will be fondly remembered by the many lives he has touched and his giving heart.
He united in marriage to Clara Dean Rice Brockman September 10, 1960 and she preceded him in death September 18, 2009.
Hollis is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mellissa and Gary Jones of Campbellsville; two granddaughters: Cara Thompson and husband, Blake of the Pierce Community in Greensburg, and Holly Wilson and husband, Chris of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren; Elli Wilson, Kati Wilson, Brock Wilson, Whitley Thompson, and Callie Thompson; three brothers and one sister: Joe Brockman and wife, Peggy, Jesse Brockman and wife, Sally, Jimmy Brockman, and Julia Reynolds of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Hollis was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ethel Pollard and Jean Corbin, and one granddaughter: Amber Jones.
