Fletcher Lewis Wise

Posted by on Nov 5, 2024

Fletcher Lewis Wise of Campbellsville, son of the late Truman Wise and Mattie Wagoner Wise, was born November 24, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 6:59 A.M., Monday, November 4, 2024 in Campbellsville.    Age: 91

Fletcher professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.

Fletcher was a retired pipeline worker and later became a fishing guide upon retirement. He was most at peace on a lake fishing.  While he loved catching a mess, at the end of the day, it didn’t matter if he had a bite or not.  He just took the beauty and solace of nature to heart and it sustained him.  He taught this to his children, and it has been a blessing.

He united in marriage to Christine Minor December 16, 1954.  Fletcher was happiest at the home he made with Christine, “the best wife in the world” and his family, especially his grandkids.

Besides his wife, Christine Wise of Campbellsville, Fletcher is survived by three daughters:  Patricia Sprowles and husband, Jeff and Shelia Wise of Campbellsville and Melinda Madison and husband, Scott of Maryland; six grandchildren; Sean Sprowles of Campbellsville, Austin Sprowles of Michigan, Ryan Bolger of New Jersey, Amanda Wilmsmeyer and husband, Kyle of Iowa, Jennifer Madison and husband, Jonathan Stewart of New Jersey and Michael Madison of Washington State; one sister, Della Ann Minor of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Fletcher was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Lewis “Mouse” Wise May 9, 2020 and one sister, Ora Mae Alex.
