Lula Mae (Pierce) Farmer

Lula Mae Pierce Farmer of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late William R. Pierce and Pearlee Smothers Pierce was born on February 16, 1932, in Lebanon, KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 92 years of age.

She was of the Catholic Faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, tending to her flowers and garden, watching birds and wildlife, and was known to make the best banana pudding and jam cake. She was a wonderful grandmother and found the good in everybody she met.

In 1948, she united in marriage to James Bernard Farmer and he preceded her in death in 2000.

She is survived by two children: Elizabeth Cissie Hunt and husband Johnny of Campbellsville, and James Terry Farmer and his wife Becky of Hodgenville. Nine grandchildren: John Hunt (Andrea) of North Carolina, Shannon Hunt Cox (Donald Wayne) of Campbellsville, Tonya Farmer Kuklinski of Mississippi, Kristin Farmer Taylor (Mark) of South Carolina, Sara Farmer Kelley (Gabe) of Indiana, Josh Farmer of Bardstown, Melissa Farmer Brundage (Kris) of Bardstown, Joe Farmer (Karen) of Leitchfield, and Jimmy Farmer of Indiana along with 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Also, surviving are one sister and one brother: Verna Jean McDaniel and David Pierce both of Indiana.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Doug Farmer and Bobby Farmer, and eight siblings: J.L. Pierce, Cecil Pierce, Elizabeth Gordon, Evelyn Hall, Samuel Pierce, Geraldine Jones, Alma Jane Denney, and Carolyn Miller.

There will be a Funeral Service for Lula Mae Pierce Farmer at the St. Augustine Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 13, 2025, with burial to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.

Deacon Joe Dant will officiate.

The family has requested visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
