Bro. Lawrence & Betty Brockman
Bro. Lawrence Brockman Jr., 84, son of the late Lawrence “Pete” Brockman Sr. and Jessie Marcum Brockman was born on July 19th, 1940 in Campbellsville. A few years later, Ms. Betty Loy Brockman, 81, daughter of the late Anthus Loy Jr and Audrey Hazel Hovious Loy, was born on December 30th, 1943 in Adair County. Some years later, they met in school. Lawrence knew as soon as he saw her that he would marry her someday. On June 2nd, 1962, Lawrence and Betty united in marriage, beginning their 62-year love story.
Ms. Betty passed from this life on January 11th, 2025 and a short twenty-four hours later, Lawrence joined his love in their heavenly home on January 12th, 2025.
Both Lawrence and Betty worked at Fruit of the Loom; Betty for 27 years and Lawrence worked as the shipping supervisor for 39 years. After the factory closed, Betty went on to work as a teacher’s aide for the Taylor County School System. She enjoyed working with the children. She retired from there after several years. Lawrence was called to the ministry to serve the Lord after the factory closed. He spent 15 years serving several churches. Together, they loved to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. When they weren’t watching games together, Betty enjoyed reading and working seek and find puzzles. Lawrence enjoyed mowing the yard and working in his garden. They both professed faith in Christ and attended Spurlington Methodist Church. They both enjoyed serving their church.
Lawrence and Betty are survived by:
One Son, Mike Brockman and his wife, Cindy of Columbia
Two grandsons: Steven Keith Brockman and his wife, Kayla, of Campbellsville; and Michael Truman Brockman of Liberty
Two great-grandsons: Theodore Keith Brockman and Simon David Brockman, both of Campbellsville
Betty’s siblings: Juanita Antle and her husband, Dean, of Columbia; Ina Rooker and her husband, Roger, of Campbellsville; and Larry Loy and his wife, Darlene, of Campbellsville
Lawrence’s siblings: Mary Ola Perkins; and Donald Brockman and his wife, Wanda, all of Campbellsville

Two children: Kathy Diane Brockman in 1964 and Lonnie Dale Brockman in 2008

VISITATION: Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL: Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Spurlington Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Gerard Flanagan and Bro. Robert Morris will be officiating.
