Sandra Denise Cissell, 64

Sandra Denise Cissell of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late James Robert Allen and Eldora Maxine Beard Allen was born in Indianapolis, IN, on March 5, 1960, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Lexington, KY. She was 64 years of age.

She was of the Christian Faith and was a homemaker. She was a former employee of Fruit of The Loom. She enjoyed shopping, flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.

She had united in marriage to Charles Timothy “Tim” Cissell who precedes her in death.

She is survived by three children: Jaime Moran and husband Brian of Campbellsville, Aaron Cissell and wife Gidget of Oklahoma, and Lindsay Burress and husband

Tyler of Campbellsville. Seven grandchildren: Cheyenne Lamer (Eric), Chanze Moran (Makayla), Keaton Cissell, Adelynn Cissell, Bryson Burress, Tenley Burress, And Olivia Burress. Three Great-grandchildren: Xavier Miller, Emberley Miller, and Jameson Lamer.

Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers: Vickie Quinn (Greg), James Rex Allen, and Ronnie Allen (Kellie Jo) all of Campbellsville, and Shannon Gilbert (Derrick) of Georgetown.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Kay Wethington.

There will be a funeral service for Sandra Denise Cissell on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Jeremy Wethington will officiate.

The family has requested visitation on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wanda LeeAnne Benningfield of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Friday, June 28, 2024 at her home. Born in Taylor County on May 22, 1950 to the late Troy Helm and Anner Lou Bottoms, she was 74 years, 1 month, and 6 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Benningfield was the manager and, later, the owner and operator of a retail food and entertainment enterprise.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Three children: Tracy Gabehart, Karlee Campbell, and James Benningfield, Jr.,

A brother: Kenny Bandy,

Five grandchildren: Megan Saline and husband Aaron, Zachary Ginter, Emilee Gabehart, Baylen Campbell, and Marcos Benningfield,

A great-grandchild: Tucker Saline,

Close friends and caretakers: Cecilia Cave, and Gary and Monica Smith,

And a host of other family members and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Benningfield on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville. Burial will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 6, after 12:00 noon until time for the service.

Essie Mae Slinker Clark, 93

Essie Mae Slinker Clark, of Campbellsville, age 93 passed away Thursday, June 24, 2024 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab.

          She was born February 8, 1931 in the Pierce Community of Green County to the late Joseph Spencer and Grace (Thompson) Thompson.

Essie was a member of the Trammell Creek Baptist Church, a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, a restaurant worker and caregiver.

She enjoyed music and going to Renfro Valley.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Clark; her sisters and brother: Janice Pedigo, Nona Houk, Geraldine Meadows, Joseph Thompson, Kathryn Thompson, Nellie Thompson, Madelyn Thompson and Oleeda Bolton.

Survivors include two sons: Ronnie Slinker and Rex Slinker of Louisville; two sisters: Nina Larimore Lobb and Yvonne Coffey and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Casey LaChelle (Blair) Day, daughter of Toby Blair and Frances Vernice Graham, passed from this life on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Hardin County. Born in Campbellsville on April 21, 1988, she was 36 years of age. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Verna and James Logsdon.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Day leaves to cherish her memory:

Five children: Gabriel, Alec, Zackariah, Logan, and Landon Day,

And a host of other family members and friends.

 There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Day on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM EDT (12:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville. Bro. Ramon Hollins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.

Brian Davis Cox, 52

Mr. Brian David Cox of Campbellsville, the son of Kirby Cox and Anna Sue (Cable) Wheatley, was born April 6, 1972 in Campbellsville. He departed this life on Thursday, June 27, 2024 in Louisville at the Norton Inpatient Care Pavilion. He was 52 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Elk Horn Baptist Church. Mr. Cox was a construction worker before becoming disabled. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his parents: Kirby and Martha Cox, and Anna Sue and Cleve Wheatley, all of Campbellsville,

A brother: John Alan Cox and wife Beth; step brothers and sisters: Johnathan Wheatley and wife Kasea, Alana Smith and husband Wes, Julie Kessler and husband John, Brian Woodrum and wife Vanessa and Mark Woodrum and wife Kirsten, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Brian David Cox will be Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Family requests visitation after 10:00 A.M. Monday until time for the service.
