Travis Chad Ford, age 35

Travis Chad Ford, age 35 of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home in Campbellsville.

Chad was born on May 4, 1981 in Winchester, Kentucky to the late Gerald Thomas Ford and Sharon Spradlin Ford who survives.    Over the years, he had worked as a mechanic in the auto repair business which he enjoyed.

Besides his mother, Chad is survived by a brother Christopher Thomas Ford of Minnesota and a sister Jennifer Haffly and her husband Anthony of Winchester.  Also surviving is his grandmother, Eula Mae Ford as well as a niece Rinoa Haffly, a nephew, Ezekiel Ford and uncle, Kent Ford.

The Funeral Service for Travis Chad Ford will be Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Lobb officiating.     The family request visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service with cremation to follow.

Sandra “Sandy” Schneider, age 67

Sandra W. “Sandy” Schneider, age 67, of Columbia, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at her home in Adair County after an illness of two years.

Sandy was born on November 20, 1949 in Greensburg, KY to the late Joe and Tressye Finn Whitlock. At the time of her death she was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady Perpetual Help. She was an avid reader and liked to paint in her spare time.

On March 14th, Sandy would have celebrated her 28th wedding anniversary with her husband, John Schneider, who survives. Also surviving is son, Trent Judd and his wife Brittany of Greensburg as well as four step-children, John Schneider, Jr. of Kentucky, Robert Schneider and Bobby Schneider of Florida and Joseph Schneider of New York.

The funeral services for Sandy will be held on Friday, March 17th at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Saju Vadakumpadan, C.M.I., officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 16th followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Shirley Beams, age 73

Shirley Ann Beams, age 73, of Campbellsville died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her residence after an illness.

Shirley was born on June 12, 1943, the daughter of the late Leonard and Essie Underwood Perkins.   Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donnie Lee and Robert Earl Perkins and a sister, Mildred Christine Perkins.      She had worked as a nurse prior to her retirement.  She was of the Christian faith and at the time of her death, was a member of Grace Mission Church.

She is survived by her husband, Earl E. Beams and a daughter, Marie Dudley and son, Steve Beams and his wife Rhonda, all of Campbellsville.   Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Megan Marie Dudley, Cameron Dudley, Alyssa Dudley, Ashley Burton, Daniel Beams and Brenna Lenz as well as 4 great grandchildren, Camden Dudley, Easton Beams, Ethan Burton and Audra Burton.

The funeral for Shirley will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Harrah officiating.  Burial will follow in Beams Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers are Jason Milby, Andy Lenz, Cameron Dudley, Daniel Beams, Rodney Burton, Mickey Sapp, William Abrell and Rodney Lemon.

Family request visitation from 11:00  a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.    Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to American Cancer Society and may be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Louise Parker, age 90

Burnice Louise “Mama E” Parker, age 90, of Campbellsville died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Campbellsville, KY.

Mama E. was born on January 13, 1927 in Campbellsville, KY to the late Clarence Milton and Clady White Vaughn.    For over 50 years she shared her life with the man she married in 1946, Spencer Samuel Parker who preceded her in death on June 17, 1996.   Also, preceding her in death were her daughters, Martha Parker Visor and Joyce Ann Parker as well as her brothers and sisters, Hollis D. Vaughn, James E. Vaughn, Maurice S. Vaughn, Clarence Milton Vaughn, Jr., Eleanor Miller and Eula Wray Shively.

Mama E had worked as a nursing assistant at Rosary Hospital as well as for Dr. Mann’s office.   During her spare time, you would find her sewing, cooking, canning, quilting or dancing.   She was such a joy to be around as she had a contagious laugh that made everyone smile.   At the time of her death she was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daugthers-in-law, George Parker and his wife Terri, Larry Buckner and his wife, Jean, both of Aurora, IL; and a son-in-law, John D. Visor as well as six grandchildren, Anthony Buckner and his wife Denise, Curprisa Visor Rayford, John D. “June Bug” Visor, Jr., Lisa Visor Woods and her wife Nineka, Cory Parker and girlfriend, Marilyn Edwards, and Jason Parker along with three sisters, Doris L. Bridgewater and Betty C. Vaughn of Campbellsville and Georgia A. Pryor of Aurora, IL and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Stacee Spurling, our family lifeline for Louise in our absence who made her quality of life much richer.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 14 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Campbellsville, KY, with burial in Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Casket bearers for Mama E are Billy Gene Mitchell, Hollis Bridgewater, Sapp Johnson, Kelvin Mills, Lee Allen Bridgewater, Jansen Shively, Seneca Edwards and Anthony Spurling.

The family request visitation from 10 a.m. until time for the service on Tuesday, March 14th at Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

Roy Thomas “Leroy” Newton, age 41

Roy Thomas “Leroy” Newton, age 41, of Campbellsville died Friday, March 3, 2017 in Louisville after a brief illness.

Roy was born on September 27, 1975 in Marion County, Kentucky to his parents, Roy James and Josephine Newton who survive.     He was a long-time farmer and in his spare time, enjoyed watching his favorite basketball team, the University of Louisville Cardinals, a NASCAR race or you would find him enjoying the outdoors while fishing.

Besides his parents, his is survived by two daughters, Kayla and Brooklyn Newton, a granddaughter, Ava Hoskins as well as three sisters, Lisa Walls, Kathy Pittman and special friend Brian Garrett and Elizabeth Newton and special friend Nikki Curry, and a longtime companion, Amanda Wright, all of Campbellsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow in Tallow Creek Cemetery with casket bearers being Brian Garrett, T.J. Albertson, Johnny Reardon, Junior Beckley, Todd Beckley, Gene Tate and Lee Cox.

The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 6th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the family memorial fund and can be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
