CALLAHAN

 

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Callahan, age 84, of Shawnee Drive, Campbellsville died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her residence.

She is survived by three sisters, Regina Parker and her husband, Johnny of Elkhorn, Nona Cox and Kaye Watson both of Campbellsville and one step sister Gerald Ann Brown of Campbellsville.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Callahan will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial in the Callahan Cemetery.

The family request visitation after 11:00 AM Wednesday until time of the services at 1;00 PM

French, Richard M. “Buster”, Age 81

Richard M. “Buster” French, age 81, of Campbellsville, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at the home of his sister following an illness.

Buster was born October 13, 1935 in Taylor County to the late Charlie and Lissie Harris French.    Also, preceding him in death was a son, David Richard French, a brother, Bobby French, a half sister, Mildred Shuffett and a nephew, David Ford.

Over the years, he worked as a carpenter as well as working part-time at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home.   Buster was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by two brothers, Clifford French of Campbellsville and Garnett French of Ohio and one sister, Betty Wilson of Campbellsville.    Several nieces and nephews survive as well as a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

The family requests visitation from 10 a.m. until time for the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

O’Banion, Betty – age 91

Betty R. O’Banion, age 91, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Campbellsville Health and Rehab Center.

Betty was born on February 2, 1925 to the late Daniel Little and Sadie Wooldridge Little.    Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe O’Banion, a son, John O’Banion and two sisters, Margaret McConaha and Juanita Burchard.

Betty was survived by one daughter, Renee Parker of Campbellsville, 4 grandchildren, Shaun O’Banion, Julie Davis, Cheryl Deason and Brie O’Banion.  Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren and special family friends, Lanny and Joyce Cox and Buster Williams.

A graveside service will be held at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Chapel on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Larry Spears officiating.  Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the service.

Edelen, Phillip, age 58

James Phillip Edelen, age 58, of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, in Elizabethtown, KY.

James was born the son of the late James C. and Ethel E. Osborne Edelen, on March 16, 1958 in Campbellsville, KY.  Besides his parents, Phillip was also preceded in death by a sister, Julita Buckman.      He had worked at Batesville Casket Company as well as doing auto body work.    He enjoyed having fun with his friends and family and was known as the “Ice Cream Man” to his nieces and nephews.

Phillip is survived by two sons and one daughter, James Curtis Edelen, Brandon Phillip Edelen and Amber Nicole Rose and her husband Daniel all of Campbellsville, KY.    Also surviving are 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Joe Edelen and his wife Lois, Tim Edelen and his wife Glenda, Mary Regina Shively and her husband Jeff, Evelyn Edelen and her friend Tommy Hayden and Kim Hayden and her husband Steve all of Campbellsville, 4 grandchildren, Lexie Edelen, Jade Tungate, Gracie Tungate and Isabella Rose and a special friend and caregiver, Jody Cox.

Funeral services for James Phillip Edelen will be Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Deacon Dennis May officiating.   Burial will follow in the St. Francis DeSales Cemetery with pallbearers being Chris Shively, Bradley Galarza, Jarrod Hayden, Steven Hayden, Skyler Edelen and Jesse Edelen.   The family request visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Obituary of Jerry England

 

Jerry Lee England, age 69, of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his home unexpectedly.

Jerry was born in Campbellsville on April 4, 1947, the son of the late Hollis J. and Myrtle Mae Clark England. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Olin England, a sister, Della Mae England and a step-mother, Theresa England.

Jerry retired after 35 years as a knitter for Fruit of the Loom. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, raising goats and chickens, was a member at Ducks Unlimited and loved to shoot pool.

He is survived by his wife, Helen England, a son, Jerry Keith England and his wife Frankie, a twin sister, Judy Marie Gwinn, a brother, Hollis Ray England, and sisters, Emma Jean Lewis and Rose Mary Rainwater, all of Campbellsville. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Wesley Lee Goodrum, Tyler Keith England, Summer Nicole England, Jerry Dakota England, 3 Step Grandchildren, Cody Crabtree, Jessica Crabtree, Nathan Crabtree, 4 great grandchildren, Wesley Goodrum, Jr., Miranda Sue Goodrum, Peyton Nicole Grace England, Kloe Alexus England, as well as 4 step sisters, Patty Cissell, Bonnie Harris, Amanda Clements and Cathy Benedict, one step-brother, Thomas Anthony Parker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Elder Ruel Boils, Bro. George Blevins and Bro. Les Richard officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with pallbearers being, Tyler England, Zach Richardson, Allan Gwinn, Nathan Crabtree, Kevin Scully, Brett Williams, Dakota Corbett and T.J. Agee. Honorary pallbearers are Mac Cox, Jerry McMahan and Charles Allen.

The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 18th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
