Mrs. Mary Christine Cox age 85 of Campbellsville, died Thursday September 22, 2016, at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late Philip and Nonie Bottoms of Taylor County. She had professed faith in Christ and had a strong Christian belief. She united in marriage to Berry Cox who preceded her in death. Mrs. Cox was also preceded in death by two sons, Shelby and Earl Allen Cox of Taylor County and three grandchildren, Samantha Rae Cox, DeWayne Hayes and Anthony Wayne Cox all of Campbellsville.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters, Dannie Cox and Darrell Cox and his wife Jill all of Campbellsville, Laura Cox and her husband Keith, Dorlene Perkins and her husband Larry and Mary Gray all Elk Horn, and one daughter in law, Ruby Cox of Casey County. Eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Christine Cox will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.

The family request visitation from 11:00 A.M. Monday until time for the funeral services at 1:00 P.M.

Charolette Crouse, age 71, formerly of Campbellsville died Friday, August 26, 2016 in Springfield, IL where she had lived for the past 30 years.  A social worker, she had been employed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

She was born January 24, 1945 in Taylor County, KY to the late Virgil and Mamie Rice Phillips and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Phillips and Harry Less Phillips and a sister, Kathleen Moore.

She is survived by her brother, Roy Phillips and his wife, Cindy of Leitchfield.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Phillips Family Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to leaving for the cemetery.

David Joseph Kerr, age 37

David Joseph Kerr, age 37, of Campbellsville died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Taylor Regional Hospital following a hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born on September 17, 1978 in Campbellsville the son of the late Joseph Waymon and his mother, Tyann Kerr Morris who survives.  David worked as a technician for DISH Network until his illness prevented him from doing so.  He loved to ride his Harley, play music and study the Bible.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandfather, W. J. Kerr and his uncles, Doyle and Ricky Waymon.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Tyann Kerr Morris and her husband, Lloyd, of Campbellsville; a daughter, Leah Ann Kerr of Adair County; a son, Gabriel Will Kerr of Campbellsville; a brother, Daniel Wyatt and his wife Vel, of Campbellsville; his grandparents, Barbara Kerr Murphy, Teresa Jane Waymon and “Duck” Waymon all of Campbellsville; a step-father, Bill Wyatt and a half-sister, Bessie Waymon.  Also surviving his aunts, Judy and Beverly Waymon, nephews, Wayne and Chris Gilpin, a special friend, Crystal Clemmons and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home followed by his wishes to be cremated.

The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 26th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Larry Walters, age 73

Larry Walters, age 73, of Milbys Lane, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at his residence after an illness.

Larry was born January 26, 1943 in Taylor County to the late James Edward and Mattie Lou Pierce Walters.    Besides his brother he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Walters.  He was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church and had worked as a van driver for Taylor Regional Hospital for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Shofner Walters of Campbellsville, three daughters and their spouses, Mia and Kevin Milby, Tonya and Chris Gupton and Amanda Sprowles and her companion Ty Thompson all of Campbellsville. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive along with one brother and his wife, Eddie and Linda Walters and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Walters all of Campbellsville. One special cousin and his wife, Ray and Brenda Pierce of Pensacola, Florida also survive along with several other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Walters will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rhonda Arnett and Bro. Mike Gribbins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers are Troy Walters, Trent Walters, Jason Gabbert, Josh Gabbert, Rusty Shofner and Chris Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Zion Separate Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.

The family request visitation from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home and that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Central Kentucky and can be made at the funeral home.

Betty Jean Bottoms,age 74

Betty Jean Bottoms, age 74, of Campbellsville died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Taylor Regional Hospital.

Betty had attended Stoner Creek Methodist Church, was a former resident of Jackson Tower and had resided at The Grandview for the past four years.

She is survived by a nephew, Adam Bottom and his wife, Kecia of Elk Horn, a sister, Marcella Cox of Campbellsville, her caregiver, Janet Peake, extended family, Harold and Judy Gabehart, the late Lucy Mings and several other cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Wagers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Callahan Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Brian Peake, Jared Peake, Kevin Mings, Blake Gabehart, Justin Gabehart, Zack Bottoms and Lane Bottoms.

The family requests visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
