10-29-2010, 08:59pm – A 2008 Chevrolet Aveo being operated by 22 year old Jessie Jaskier of Campbellsville was attempting to turn into Forest Hills Drive when he was rear ended by a 2002 Jeep Wrangler being operated by 30 year old Kyle Dowell of Radcliff, Kentucky. Dowell and his passenger, 27 year old Jennifer Dowell, refused treatment at the scene. Jaskier was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by private vehicle.

Terry Brown became a member of the Taylor County Tourist Commission Board of Directors in July 1995. Soon after he was appointed Chairman of the Board which he served until his recent retirement October 12, 2010.
He was appointed lifetime Chairman for the Kentucky Tourism Council. He served as Chairman for the Kentucky/Tennessee Marine Association as well. Terry served as Chairman for the Southern Lakes and Rivers Region, a funding organization for the Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism. He also served on the Southern & Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association, a Senator Hal Rogers organization, he also served as Chairman of that 50 member board.
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Researchers and wildlife enthusiasts can now go online to track the movements of two bald eagles hatched in Kentucky earlier this year.
Last May, biologists fitted a male and a female eagle with satellite transmitters while both birds were still in their nests at Ballard Wildlife Management Area (WMA).
On Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 7:35, Melissa Matney 39, of Greensburg was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Van was attempting a left turn from west US68 onto KY210. Matney turned into the path of a westbound 2003 Dodge Van operated by Donnie Shively, 39 also of Greensburg. The Shively vehicle struck the Matney vehicle and then struck a guardrail. Both Matney and Shively were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville-Taylor Co. Rescue. Campbellsville Fire also responded.
October 25, 2010, 09:45am – Lavoy Price, 78, Campbellsville, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Pick-up headed east. Price lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and struck a guardrail on the opposite side of the roadway. The vehicle came to stop in the intersection of Hwy 210 and Old Pittman Rd. Price was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville-Taylor Co. Rescue. Campbellsville Fire also responded.
Before you know it ghosts and goblins will be running in the streets to trick-or-treat and Kentucky State Police want to make sure your kids stay safe this Halloween.
Lt. David Jude, Spokesperson for KSP, says the agency wants the children to have a fun but safe trick or treating experience.
“Halloween is traditionally a time for children to have fun, but most often it is the children who can be injured by situations that are avoidable,” says Jude. “Be sure your child’s costume does not obstruct their vision and is not so cumbersome that they can trip over it.”
“In the excitement of the night, kids often dart across streets,” he continued. “Falls and pedestrian accidents are statistically two of the ways most children are injured on Halloween. Be sure that, as a parent, you accompany your children for their safety and your peace of mind.”
Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate rose to 10.1 percent in September 2010 from a revised 10 percent in August 2010, according to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
The September 2010 jobless rate is .7 percentage points lower than the 10.8 percent rate recorded in September 2009 for the state. The 10.1 percent rate recorded in September 2010 matches the unemployment rate recorded in March 2009 and is the highest since May 2010 when the rate was 10.4 percent.
“Kentucky’s economy continued to stagnate in September 2010. The unemployment rate increased to 10.1 percent as the state endured government cutbacks and layoffs at administrative and support businesses,” said Dr. Justine Detzel, OET chief labor market analyst.
According to the Sheriffs Department a call was received at 4:01pm on 10/21/2010 regarding a possible human bone found next to a cornfield off of Hwy 208 in Campbellsville. After a search of the area, human remains were located. The remains have been sent to the Forensic Lab in Frankfort, Kentucky to determine the identity. The investigation is on-going.
10/22/2010 Search dogs brought in from Pulaski County search for additional human remains. Deputy Allen Newton says this is being handled as a death investigation and foul play has not been ruled out. Newton says it may be weeks before the identity of the remains can be determined.
