Date: 07/16/2010 Time: 1440 hrs.
Location: Citizens Branch Bank on Highway 210
Narrative: On 7/16/2010, at approximately 1440 hrs. a white male approximately 5’10, 220 lbs wearing a navy blue jacket with a white stripe across it entered the bank and demanded money. The jacket had National Guard written across the back. He had on sunglasses and a blonde wig with a pony tail. He had on blue jeans, black shoes. He had a black hat with a white label in front with red writing. He was armed with a dark colored semi-auto weapon. The suspect fled in a white SUV. There were no injuries to employees. An undermined amount of money was taken. Officers arrived at 1446 hrs. Anyone witnessing the suspect or have any information on the suspect, Please contact the Campbellsville Police Department at (270) 465-4122

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate fell to 10 percent in June 2010, the lowest rate in 16 months, according to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. The revised rate in May 2010 was 10.4 percent.
The June 2010 jobless rate is .8 percentage points lower than the 10.8 percent rate recorded in June 2009 for the state. The 10 percent rate recorded in June 2010 is the lowest unemployment rate recorded since February 2009 when the rate was 9.6 percent.

Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway and the Kentucky Department for Public Health today issued a warning to consumers after an investigation by the Attorney General’s office confirmed high levels of lead in jewelry sold in Kentucky. The brightly colored jewelry sold at Rainbow stores in Lexington and Louisville could be attractive to children and could present a danger to a child’s health. An investigation into whether the products have been sold elsewhere in Kentucky is ongoing.

(FRANKFORT, KY) – Preliminary statistics* indicate that five people died in five separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways during the official July 4th Independence Day holiday period, which began at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2 and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 5.
Four of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and three of those were not wearing seat belts. The motor vehicle crashes occurred in Grayson, Hopkins, Bell and Todd counties.

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) is already in full swing with their summer enforcement campaign that targets inattentive drivers. Operation K.S.P. (Kentucky’s Summer Prevention Plan) began on June 1 and is picking up speed as it sweeps across the state. The campaign will run through Labor Day weekend and will include over 1,000 safety checkpoints across the state.

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear today announced Kentucky will receive a nearly $1 million On-the-Job Training (OJT) National Emergency Grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Funds will provide on-the-job training to approximately 160 long-term unemployed workers in Kentucky.
