(Columbia, KY) – A multi jurisdictional pursuit that covered over 50 miles and reached speeds in excess of 100 MPH ended in Green County this morning with the arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile at 12:40 AM CST. The juvenile, wanted in Ohio on felony robbery and assault charges, rammed and disabled a Lexington Police cruiser while the Lexington Division of Police were actively investigating a disturbance involving the juveniles sport utility vehicle.

(Adair County, Ky) A vehicle and pedestrian collision occurred @ 7:45p.m. on Kellyville Road approximately 7 miles North of Columbia. A 1980 Ford pickup operated by James Truax, age 47, of Campbellsville was traveling Westbound on Kellyville Road when he struck Stanley C Jones, age 76, of Columbia who was walking Westbound in the roadway. Jones was transported to Westlake Hospital in Columbia by Adair Co EMS and was then flown to University of Louisville Hospital. Truax and two passengers in the Truax vehicle, Ike Underwood, age 28, of Campbellsville and Jolene Bentley, age 47, of Campbellsville were not injured. All occupants were belted.
Trooper Jamie Richard is investigating. He was assisted by Trooper Brad Stotts, Adair Co Sheriffs Department, and Adair Co EMS.

FRANKFORT, Ky. –Gov. Steve Beshear today signed House Bill 415 into law—banning texting for all drivers and cell phone use for drivers under 18.
In December 2009, Gov. Beshear launched his Eyes on the Road effort –an executive order prohibiting text messaging by state employees who are driving government-owned vehicles.

The state attorney general has confirmed his office is investigating the Kentucky League of Cities for possible illegal activity.
“My official policy is not to comment on active investigations; that is an active investigation,” Jack Conway said Tuesday. “There is some activity that is potentially criminal.”
Conway, who was responding to questions during an interview with the Herald-Leader editorial board, would not say what activity might be illegal. In a report in December, State Auditor Crit Luallen detailed a host of problems at the League, including high expenses, questionable bonus practices and conflicts of interest. She forwarded the audit to Conway’s office.

On Sunday 04/11/2010 at approximately 3:07 pm. Clyde F. Hix age 66 of Campbellsville was traveling East on US 68 near the intersection with Hwy 55, operating a 2008 white Chevrolet Silverado when he lost control of his vehicle ran off the roadway struck a guard rail and then ran into a ditch striking the earth embankment. Hix was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Taylor County Corner.
Agencies Involved: Campbellsville Police, Taylor County Sheriff Department, Campbellsville Fire and Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue.

On 04/10/2010 at approx. 3:05 pm, Jack Gray of Danville was traveling West on US 68 operating a beige 2009 Lincoln 4 door car when he attempted to make a left turn onto Airport Road. He turned into the path of a 2002 gold Hyundai 4 door car operated by Donald Robinson of Knoxville Tennessee. Both operators were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital. Rose Duvais a passenger in Robinson’s vehicle was also transported to Taylor Regional Hospital.

On 04/10/2010 at approx. 2:30 pm, Rita Wise of Campbellsville was traveling West on US 68 operating a red 1999 Chevrolet pick up when she traveled into the path of a red 1999 Chevrolet 4 door Tahoe operated by Lannon Cox Jr of Campbellsville at the intersection of North Columbia Ave. Ms. Wise was treated and released at Taylor Regional Hospital.
