Byron Douglas “Doug” England of Bedford, son of Marjorie Hovious England and the late Ira England, Jr., was born March 22, 1956 in LaSalle County, Illinois. He died at 10:50 P.M., Monday, July 31, 2017 in Louisville. Age: 61
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
Doug retired from the United States Navy where he served his country honorable for over twenty years as a Missile System Technician and an instructor. During his career he was awarded numerous ribbons, medals and commendations including: three Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, five Good Conduct Awards, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, two Navy Achievement Medals, three Navy “E” Ribbons, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Expert Rifleman Medal, Pistol Shot Medal, National Defense Service Medal, US Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon, two Meritorious Unit Commendations and the NATO Medal.
He was a long time Boy Scout Leader and was very devoted to his sons.
Doug is survived by two sons: Robbie England and Roger England of Greenville, South Carolina; his mother, Marjorie England; one brother, Gary England and wife, Diane and one sister-in-law, Sandy England of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Perry England, September 29, 1991.

Gary Foster of Campbellsville, son of Ina Lee Owens Foster and the late James Edward Foster, was born March 9, 1948, in McCreary County, Kentucky. He died at 7:45 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 69
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was a graduate of Mt. Washington High School in 1966; attended Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville College in 1986.
Gary was a retired minister and former principal at Kentucky
Christian Schools.
He united in marriage to Diann Wade August 25, 1968.
Gary was a loving foster parent, son, father, brother and friend.
Besides his wife, Diann Foster of Campbellsville, he is survived by four sons and two daughters: Patrick Foster and wife, Esther and Penni Prates and husband, David of Louisville, Philip Foster and wife, Amanda of Hebron, Peter-John Foster and Paul Foster of Campbellsville and Patricia Brown and boyfriend, Tony Johnson of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren: David Foster fiancée, Moriah Haurigan, Marquis Johnson, Rachael Brown, Joshua Brown, Kristina Foster, Danielle Foster, Gabrielle Foster, Derrick Foster and Emily Prates; one great-granddaughter, Analeigh Foster; his mother, Ina Lee Foster of Mt. Washington; three brothers and two sisters: Michael Foster and wife, Mary Jane of Prospect, Robert Foster and wife, Rheta of Hodgenville, Terry Foster and wife, Karen of Shepherdsville, Karen Lynn Cox and husband, Jeff of Shelbyville and Sharon DeVoie and husband, Ken of Nashville; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Gary was also preceded in death by two daughters: Princess Jessica Foster December 1, 2011 and Psamantha Jo Foster March 17, 1991.

Marita Warren Wright of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William McKinley Underwood and Lucretia Scott Underwood, was born December 23, 1938, in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 6:32 A.M., Monday, July 31, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 78
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Marita loved quilting as a hobby and enjoyed giving the quilts to family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family.
She united in marriage to Harvey D. Warren who preceded her in death. She later united in marriage to Irvin Wright.
Besides her husband, Irvin Wright of Campbellsville, she is survived by one son and one daughter: Michael Warren and wife, Deborah of Savannah, Georgia and Terri Richerson and husband, Sam of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Rachael Kelly Warren, Elaine Casey Warren, Victoria Kendall Warren, Kevin Richerson and companion, Lisa Kearnes, Tiffany Richerson and companion, Jacob Covin and David Richerson; one great-granddaughter, Presley Covin; one sister, Margaret Meers of Gibson City, Illinois;
several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Russell Underwood, Thomas Underwood and Louise Whitehouse and two siblings in infancy.

Mildred Gray, 81 years, 6 months and 29 days of age, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Campbellsville Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided for twelve years.
She was born in Adair County on January 2, 1936 to the late Wilbur and Iverne Williams Bault. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Gray, a daughter, Cathy Gray, a brother, Ivan Bault, a half-sister, Debbie Bault and a half-brother, Kenny Bault.
Mildred was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. She loved caring for others, was a very good cook and enjoyed quilting.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Donna Sprowles and her husband, Keith of Campbellsville and Elaine Chesser of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Amy Knifley and her husband, Lyle, of Campbellsville and Randall Chesser of Marion County, three great-grandchildren, Aleah, Aubreigh and Lance Knifley; a sister, Sharon Ford and her husband, Raymond of Campbellsville and a half-brother, DeWayne Bault and his wife, Brenda of Campbellsville.
Funeral services for Mildred Gray will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. James Collison officiating. Burial will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Serving as casket bearers will be Darian Gray, Lyle Knifley, Craig Ford, Terry Roberts, Sam Harper and Ronnie Curry.
The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 3rd, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Mike Rodgers of Campbellsville, son of Mildred Baumgardner Rodgers and the late Mitchell Rodgers, was born September 12, 1957 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:20 A.M., Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 59
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Mike was a retired employee of Batesville Casket Co., but he also had a vast knowledge of construction and masonry work. Mike’s passion for Harley Davidson was well known by those he loved, and was evident to others with just a glance at any one of his favorite shirts. His love and devotion to his family and extended family was very obvious and the times they spent together will always be cherished memories.
He united in marriage to Cindy Gilpin October 25, 1984.
Besides his wife, Cindy Rodgers of Campbellsville, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Haley Rae Leigh and Jonathon Leigh; one grandson, Isaiah Leigh; his mother, Mildred Rodgers; one brother and one sister: Ricky Rodgers and wife, Ann and Carol Caldwell and husband, Tony; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law: Bart Gilpin and wife, Candace and Marchetta Garrison and husband, Sammy of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Randall Leon Warren, age 60, of Louisville, was born August 15, 1956 and departed this life peacefully on Monday, July 24, 2017. Randall was a hardworking and honest man who prized his family above all else. He had an unforgettable smile and laugh. He enjoyed dancing, riding his Harley, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary L. Warren and a step-brother: James McNear.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Matthew Warren, Randall C. Warren (Danielle), and Whitley Warren; grandchildren, Vincent, Giovanni, Armani, and Ava Leona; his father, Herman Warren (Flossie) of Campbellsville; his sisters and brother: Linda Riley (Steve), Brenda Roberts (Keith) of Louisville, Gayle Cox (Stevie), and Carolyn Thompson (Billy) and Roger Warren all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
There will be no public visitation or funeral.

Tommy Breeding, long time Funeral Director and Embalmer, of Ravenna, formerly of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, July 26th in Richmond, after a brief illness, at the age of 78.
Tommy was born, November 17, 1938, the oldest son of the late Samuel Thomas and Margaret Sue Massie Breeding in Taylor County, Kentucky. He graduated from Adair County High School and after working various jobs, went to work for his future father-in-law, Marshall Lyon at Lyon Funeral Home in Campbellsville. On June 17, 1961 he married Elizabeth Lyon, the daughter of Marshall and Myrtle Lyon. He joined the National Guard where he served from 1962-1965 and then attended Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and after graduating in 1967, served his apprenticeship under the direction of Embry-Bosse Funeral Home in Louisville. In 1972, Tommy and Libby purchased Lyon Funeral Home from her parents where they served the Taylor County community until 1986 when they retired and sold the business to Larry DeWitt. After his retirement, they spent a lot of their time in South Florida until he took a job as a car salesman at Newcomb-Buick GMC, in Campbellsville. In 1988, he chose to return to the funeral business as manager of Lewis Funeral Home in Irvine where he worked until he retired again in 2003, and he and Libby remained in Estill County until his death. Tommy became an avid hunter, fisherman and a Trap Shooter where he won First Place in many tournaments. He was an active Mason, Shriner, and a member of the River Drive Christian Church in Irvine.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Libby Lyon Breeding and their son, T. Breeding of Lexington and daughter, LuAnn Breeding of Winchester. Also surviving are his brother and sister, Joe Irving Breeding and his wife Becky of Montgomery, AL and Betty Lou Benningfield and her husband Richard of Glasgow, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Tommy Breeding will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Columbia City Cemetery.
The family request visitation from 10:00 until 12:00 on August 2, 2017 at Lyon-Dewitt Berry Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be donations to the Jimmy V. Foundation or the Taylor County SPCA and can be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Arthur G. “Art” Shields, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Arthur G. Shields Sr. and Ruth Marie Ferree Shields, was born October 6, 1924 in Hardin County, Kentucky. He passed away at his home at 7:40 P.M., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Art attended the Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee through high school. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, entering World War II with the 45th Infantry Division. Making amphibious landings at Anzio and southern France, he fought in Sicily and Italy; through France and Belgium and into Germany, where he was stationed until the end of the war. While in Europe, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, the Europe Africa Ribbon with three Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.
Coming home, he attended Lees McRae Jr. College in Banner Elk, North Carolina until the start of the Korean War, when he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving with the Strategic Air Command until 1952.
He united in marriage to Florence Kidd on November 25, 1952. The couple made their home in Louisville where he worked for Ford Motor Company and attended the University of Louisville. She later preceded him in death on October 3, 2008.
In May, 1959, he joined the Tennessee Gas Transmission Company at the Gabe Plant in Green County, Kentucky retiring on January 1, 1986.
Active in the Republican Party, he never voted anything but a straight Republican ticket; and served as Co-Chairman of the Kentucky State Board of Education during the Louie B. Nunn administration. Art was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of Pitman Lodge # 124 F&AM
He is survived by one son and one daughter: William “Billy” Shields and Catherine “Cathy” Harker and husband, Ken of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Jennifer Shields, Jaclyn Swencki and husband, Patrick of Nashville, Tennessee; Chance Harker and Kayla Harker of Campbellsville; one sister, Margaret Fox of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Blondina Wood of Campbellsville; several nephews and many great-nieces.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jean Shields, three brothers-in-law: William Coy Kidd, Ancil Wood and Howard Fox and a sister-in-law, Patricia Kidd.
The family would like to thank Lifeline Home Health, Hosparus of Green River and a special thanks to Art’s caregivers: Patsy Bohanon, Beverly Cox and Pat Simpson.

Mary VanCleave of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edward Martin and Edna Mae Perkins Martin, was born November 14, 1939 in Nelson County, Kentucky. She died at 2:12 P.M., Monday, July 24, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 77
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Mary was a former hairdresser having owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Salon.
She loved working in her flower beds, was an avid reader and enjoyed baking for her friends and family.
She united in marriage to Randall VanCleave July 3, 1958 and he preceded her in death May 31, 2014.
She is survived by two daughters: Gail Cochran and Sherry Matthews and husband, Tony of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Cory Harrison of Campbellsville, Chris Harrison and wife, Megan of Columbia, Josh Cochran and fiancée, Tatem Smith of Campbellsville and Katlin Cochran of Clinton, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren: Gavin Harrison, Ava Harrison, Levi Harrison and Rhylen Smith; two brothers: Russell Martin of Campbellsville and James Martin of Hodgenville; several cousins and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Martin.

Maurice Wethington of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Roy Walker and Nell Scott Walker, was born November 28, 1920, in Adair County, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully at 8:33 P.M., Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 96
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a very fulfilled life and was loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact.
She professed faith in Christ and was proud to say that she was a charter member of Woodlawn Christian Church. Maurice sang with the Sonshine Girls Quartet for many years and enjoyed going to local and state conventions.
She united in marriage to Roy Wethington June 28, 1941. He preceded her in death May 27, 2006. She and her husband Roy owned and operated the Lucky Vista Motel. She was an excellent business woman and enjoyed being with people.
She was an avid bowler and loved to fish. There was always a contest between her and Roy to see who could catch the biggest fish.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ouida and Wendell Rivers; one grandson, Damon Rivers of Campbellsville, sister–in-law, Mildred Walker of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother: Imogene Muncie and Glen “Brother” Walker.
