Aileen “Memaw” Milby Skaggs of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Earl Milby and Allie Wood Milby, was born May 2, 1928, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 2:47 A.M., Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Elizabethtown. Age: 88
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church where she was an active participant of the Golden Gals. She loved her church and proudly served the Lord through her cleaning ministries at the church.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and her grandchildren were her life.
Aileen united in marriage to Calvin Russell Skaggs March 17, 1951 and he preceded her in death August 7, 1992.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: Russell Skaggs and wife, Linda, Bonnie Webster and husband, Jimmy and Robbin Cox of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Andi Skaggs of Bowling Green, Jenny Skaggs and Jonah Cox of Campbellsville; three brothers and one sister: Jim Milby and wife, Linda, Bill Milby, Bob Milby and wife, Jane and Lucille Orange of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

James “Sonny” Loy, age 76 years, 7 months & 22 days was born on August 18, 1940 in Adair County Kentucky. He went to be with the Lord after a struggle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Magnolia Village Facility in Bowling Green, Ky.
James was a graduate of Taylor County High School, and was Valedictorian of the graduating class of 1960. He earned an Associates degree from Lindsey Wilson College and a Bachelors degree from Western Kentucky University. He then went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
James faithfully served the United Methodist Church as a minister from 1959 until his home going. During that time he was appointed to the Bishop’s Cabinet as District Superintendent for two different terms. From 1973 to 1977 he also served as Director of Development at Lindsey Wilson College while teaching Religious Studies.
James was married to his high school sweetheart, Brenda Upchurch Loy for 55 wonderful years. To their loving union two children were born: Charles Anthus “Chuck” Loy and Ladonna Carol Loy Hunton, who is married to Mark Hunton. He was a loving Papaw to his three grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Hunton, James Brandon Hunton and Charles Anthus “Chaz” Loy the 2nd. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Audra Hovious Loy and his Father, Anthus Loy, Jr. He is survived by his five siblings: Glendal “Buddy” (and his wife Deloris Loy), Betty (and her husband Lawrence Brockman), Juanita (and her husband Dean Antle), Ina (and her husband Roger Rooker), and Larry (and his wife Darlene Loy). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017 at The Campbellsville First United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on April 12, 2017 at The Campbellsville First United Methodist Church, 317 E. Main St., Campbellsville, Ky. Internment will follow at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association so that a cure can be found to this dreadful disease.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to the loving staffs of the Allegro Memory Care Home in Elizabethtown, Ky and Magnolia Village Facility in Bowling Green, Ky, both of which specialize in caring for needs of those with Alzheimer’s and related dementia.

Nellie Brewer of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jerome Edward Shofner and Lou Tishie Cash Shofner was born May 22, 1930 in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 12:06 P.M., Friday, April 7, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and attended First General Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing and could make anything from a picture without a pattern.
She was gifted at crocheting and made many beautiful doilies.
She is survived by six daughters: Jo Ann Morris and husband, Ronnie, Roberta Walker and husband, Gordon, Wanda Skaggs and husband, Randall, Paula Brewer and Pamela Morgan of Campbellsville and Jeannie Bell and husband, Gary of Hodgenville; thirteen grandchildren: Veronica Seales of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Rebecca Matney of Bowling Green, Alison Thompson of Georgetown, Cheryl Miller of Hodgenville, Jamie Morgan of Corbin, Jeremy Pike, Jessica Martin and Tisha Tungate of Greensburg, and Gwen Walker, Robbie Walker, Tracey Phillips, Crystal Morgan and Sean Whittle of Campbellsville; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Linda Pauline Brewer in 1947, one grandson in infancy, Jason Morgan in 1985; six sisters and five brothers: Bessie Rice, Mina Brewer, Charlie Shofner, Ray Shofner, Rosie Harris, Katie Shofner, Emma Hedgespeth and three brothers and one sister in infancy.

Mr. William Fred “J.R.” Simpson, Jr. of Campbellsville passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home after an illness. Born in Adair County to the late William Fred, Sr. and Edith Mae (Ward) Simpson, he was 72 years, 3 months, and 26 days of age. Mr. Simpson was a dairy farmer and the owner and operator of Simpson Fence Company. He professed faith in Christ, and enjoyed being outdoors hunting and working in God’s creation.
He leaves to mourn his passing:

Two daughters: Carol Jean Brown and Bridgette Denise Jones, both of Campbellsville,
Two sisters: Barbara Stewart and husband Mark Maher of Tennessee, and Faye Faulkner and husband Boogie of Campbellsville,

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Simpson on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Interment will be in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 8, after 12:00 noon until time for the service.

Mary Catherine Sebastion, age 81, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Sebastion, Vickie and Eddie Hazelwood and Mary Wood all of Campbellsville, and Sharon Sebastion of Illinois and one step-daughter, Janet Haskins of Munfordville. Four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. She is also survived by three brothers, William Henry Taylor of Louisville, Randy and Helen Taylor of Campbellsville, Lloyd Estes of Indianapolis and a brother-in-law, Reverend Gerald Joiner of Louisville. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sebastion will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2017, at the First Baptist Church with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family request visitation after 11:00 A.M. until time of the services on Monday at the First Baptist Church.

Carl Wethington of Campbellsville, son of the late Jim Wethington and Ruby Coffman Wethington, was born on May 2, 1939, in Casey County, Kentucky. He died at 1:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 77
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God.
He was a retired independent truck driver with Green River Gate Company in Casey County.
Carl united in marriage to JoAnn Cochran Bowlin January 26, 2002.
Besides his wife, JoAnn Bowlin Wethington of Campbellsville, he is survived by one step-daughter, Pam Ewing and husband, Jimmy; two step-grandchildren: Shelby Ewing and Ries Ewing of Campbellsville; one brother and one sister: Roger Wethington and Betty Davis and husband, Norman of Liberty; one sister-in-law, Sandra Wethington of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Wethington and Wendell Wethington.

S Mrs. Dellar (Loy) Cheatham, daughter of the late George and Gunnie Nancy (Morrison) Loy, was born on January 7, 1924 in the Chance community of Adair County. She departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital at the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 27 days. In 1942, Mrs. Cheatham married Gravely Olin Cheatham, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1990. She professed faith in Christ and attended nondenominational churches as her health allowed. Mrs. Cheatham enjoyed working on her farm, playing golf, wordsearch puzzles, and watching Judge Judy, and used her spare time to serve others and help people. Although she and her husband had no children, she was loved and cared for by the Wheeler sisters and their brother Donnie, which are her nieces and nephew.
She was also preceded in death by nine siblings: Ida Mae Wheeler, Dorothy Campbell, a twin sister Stella Reliford, Junior Loy, Nannie Reliford, Yank Loy, Bill Loy, Edgar Loy, and an infant sister Doris Loy.
At the request of Mrs. Cheatham, there will be a graveside service on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 12:00 EST/11:00 CST in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1102-1144 Liberty Rd, Columbia, KY 42728. Machelle Perry will be officiating.

Mr. Robert Allan Hawkins of Columbia was born on June 5, 1983 and departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home. He was 33 years, 9 months, and 29 days of age. His engaging personality and love of furry friends served him well as a pet groomer. “We are weary, yet so aware”, a favorite saying of his, denoted a glimmering mind full of deep thoughts and unpublished novels, and his love for his family and friends will forever be cherished.

Mrs. Ronna Rachelle Gaddie of Campbellsville was born on November 14, 1988 to Kelly Dawn (Abell) Miller and the late James Logan “Jimmy” Gaddie and departed this world on Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was 28 years, 4 months, and 18 days of age. Ronna was a wife and homemaker; she professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith. Living life to the fullest was a mantra to her; she loved adventures with people she cherished, and hiked many miles with family and friends. Naturally expressive, she enjoyed drawing and playing pool, and her tattoo artistry will be proudly carried for years by many people.

Mrs. Ruby (Rucker) Spratt of Campbellsville was born on May 11, 1932 to the late Charlie Matt and Hazel Marie (Coontz) Rucker. She departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2017 at her home at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 23 days of age. She enjoyed camping with Glenn, her husband of 66 years, and was a 40+ year floor lady at the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville. Mrs. Spratt professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
