Robert Dale Martin of Knifley, son of the late Shirley Lee Martin, Sr. and Betty Sue Chaney Martin was born August 25, 1964, in La Porte Indiana.

He died at 4:40 P.M., Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Columbia. Age: 50

He united in marriage to Marcie Greenwell September 27, 1986.

Besides his wife, Marcie Martin, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Nathanial Robert Martin of Knifley, Chase Ryan Martin and wife, Mary of Russell Springs, Autumn Jewell Burton and husband Jeremy of Columbia; two grandchildren: Aubree Renee Owens and Kaia Renley Martin and an unborn grandson; three brothers and two sisters: Shirley Lee Martin, Jr. and wife, wife, Maria of Monticello, Dennis Martin and wife, Louise and Daniel Martin and wife, Shannon of Knifley, Teresa Zuwacki and husband Richard of Walkerton, Indiana and Sandy Mayes of La Porte, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Lynn Martin of English, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lee Martin.

Tim Cox of Campbellsville, son of the late Lewis Rudolph Cox and Ruth Herron Cox, was born October 13, 1958, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 6:15 P.M., Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Campbellsville.   Age: 56

He was employed as a welder.

He united in marriage to Donna Barnett June 26, 1998.

Besides his wife, Donna Barnett Cox of Campbellsville, he is survived by one brother and one sister: Mike Helm and wife, Pam and Sue Helm Farmer and husband, Richard of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

thompson, colby jColby Jade Thompson, age 20, of Greensburg died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Green County.

Colby was born November 17, 1994 and was a 2013 graduate of Green County High School.  He worked at Amazon in Campbellsville and enjoyed cars, computers and video games.

He is survived by his mother, Pennie Akin and her husband, Tom, of Greensburg; his father, Chris Karnes, of Columbia; a brother, Brett Huff; five sisters, Sydney Akin, Sarah Akin, Sienna Akin, Skylar Akin and Symphany Akin, all of Greensburg; a step-sister, Shauna Akin of Columbia; his grandmother, Linda Thompson, of Greensburg; his grandfather, Rollie Thompson, of Mt. Sherman; his step-grandparents, Glen and Ramona Akin, of Columbia and several other relatives and friends.

His grandparents, Donna and Due Karnes preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. EST Saturday, November 29th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in the Taylors Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, Nov. 28th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Mary E. Goodin Caulk 002Mary E. Goodin Caulk of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Elmer Goodin and Minnie Farmer Goodin, was born October 5, 1927, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 5:00 P.M., Monday, November 24, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age 87

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

She was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after twenty-two years of service.

She united in marriage to James Benningfield October 27, 1947. He preceded her in death September 17, 1960.

She united in marriage to James R. Caulk June 30, 1972.

Besides her husband, James R. Caulk, she is survived by six sons and three daughters: Larry Benningfield and wife, Becky, Elizabeth Cox, and husband, Rodger of Campbellsville, Bob Benningfield and wife, Diane of Columbia, Susie McGrannahan and husband, Andrew of Lexington, Roger Benningfield and wife, Ellen of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Terry Benningfield and wife, Cindy, James R. Caulk Jr., and wife, Cricket, Keith Caulk and Patty Peagle and husband, Eddie of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son-in-law Matthew Sloderbeck of Noblesville, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Billy Goodin and wife, Sue, Gene Goodin and wife, Teresa and Pat Thompson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Sloderbeck and three brothers and three sisters: Elmer Goodin, Jr, Charles Goodin, James Goodin, Catherine Newton, Marie Caulk and Mildred Benningfield.

Lawler pic Mrs. Judy May Lawler of Campbellsville, passed away on November 24, 2014, at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 66 years of age. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she moved with her family at a young age to Chicago, Illinois where she was raised. She was the daughter of the late Elsi May (Lewis) and William Russell Sturgis, Sr. Mrs. Lawler was a doting homemaker who took special pride in her grandchildren. She was a bingo fanatic, and would play at every opportunity.

Mrs. Lawler is survived by:
Four children: Tina Marie Gutierrez Porter and husband John Paul, Sr., Manuel Gutierrez, Jr. and wife Carol, John Paul Gutierrez, Sr. and wife Crystal Dale, and Angelina Christina Waldron and husband Sean Patrick, Sr., all of Campbellsville,
Two brothers: William Russell “Bill” Sturgis and wife Linda, and Chuck Sturgis and wife Rebecca, all of Pennsylvania,
Her ex-husband: Manuel Gutierrez, Sr. and wife Dana of Campbellsville,
A special friend and bingo buddy: Rosie Osinger,
A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren,

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Gutierrez, Sr., and a sister, Martha Ann Hostler.

There will be a graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Lawler on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery, Campbellsville, KY, at 10:00 AM. Deacon Joe Dant will be officiating.

Mr. Donnie Dishman, age 67 of Campbellsville, passed away on Sunday at his home.

Survivors include a son: Tristan Dishman and wife Erica of Campbellsville.

Two step-daughters: Rhonda Burress of Lebanon and Leslie Dunn of Campbellsville.

A step-son: Ronnie Beckley of Springfield.

Three brothers: Bill Dishman of Campbellsville, Lonnie Dishman of Hodgenville and Grady Dishman of Monticello.

Two sisters: Pauline McGinnis of Campbellsville and Betty Dishman of Russell Springs.

Two Grandchildren: Cory and Connor Dishman both of Campbellsville

His companion: Donna Beckley of Campbellsville.

The funeral service for Mr. Donnie Dishman will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Dishman Cemetery in Wayne County, KY.

Visitation after 10 AM Wednesday until time for the service.

lawson, chesterChester “Red” Lawson, age 89, of Campbellsville died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

Chester was born April 4, 1925 to the late Dee and Murty Young Lawson in Adair County, KY.  He was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. Red retired from Taylor County RECC after 43 years of service and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erica Tiffany Lawson; four brothers, Charlie Lawson, Waymond Lawson, Gordon Lawson and Riley Lawson and three sisters, Marilyn White, Annie Robinson and Zelma Cheek.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Laura Glenn Lawson; a son, J.C. Lawson and his wife, Peggy; two daughters, Wanda Gray and her husband, Eugene and Marsha Estes and her husband, Billy, all of Campbellsville; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Robbie) Bell, Adam (Gretchen) Lawson, DeAnna (Jason) Humphress, Stephanie (Kenton) Gibson and Laura Estes and nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26th  at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home by Bro. Tommy Hughes and Bro. Shaun Caudill.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

The family request visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 25th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Abell Pic Mr. William Robert “Billy” Abell was born in Marion County, Kentucky on September 15, 1934 into the marriage of Conrad and Georgie (Murphy) Abell. He departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Campbellsville having attained the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 6 days. Mr. Abell was married to Mrs. Wilma (Hicks) Abell, who preceded in death. He had a strong work ethic, and was a carpenter and mechanic by trade. Mr. Abell professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the White’s Ridge Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
One daughter: Debbie Graham and husband Rick of Campbellsville,
Two sons: Billy Abell and wife Rebecca of Springfield, and Robbie Abell and wife Connie Jo of Elizabethtown,
Three sisters: Jean Lanham of Lebanon, Pearly Singleton of Parksville, and Gertrude Lane of Stanford,
Nine grandchildren: Jason Keltner, Derrick Keltner, Ricky Graham, Robin Fox, Tonya Abell, Billy Lee Abell, Amanda Burnside, Rebecca Martin, and Mack Abell,

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Abell was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jean Miller and Diane Corbia.

Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY 42718 on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating. Interment will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She was a retired nurse for thirty years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She united in marriage to Herbert Magness in 1974, who preceded her in death.

She united in marriage to Keyes Farmer in 1991, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons: Mitch Magness and wife, Michele of Campbellsville and Tom Magness and wife, Wanda of San Diego, California; six grandchildren: Jacob Magness, Daniel Magness, Trina Magness, Tonia Magness, Morgan Magness and Matthew Magness; four great-grandchildren: Hunter Magness, Ava Marie Magness, Sienna Magness and Emerson Magness; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Johnny Campanelli, Lucy O’Kane, Loretta Lincinatta and Marian Campanelli.

She is survived by three daughters: Beverly England and husband, Don of Campbellsville, Kaye Compton of Middleburg, Florida and Angela Cobb of Terra Haute, Indiana; four grandchildren: Wes England, Stacy Meek, Stephanie Cobb and John Kohr; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, John David Mills in 1978 and three brothers and five sisters: Walter Bowen, Leonard Bowen, Arvin Bowen, Anne Bault, Marie Cox, Mary Humphress, Mae Hunt and Creola Allen.
