campbell, cozetta croppedCozetta Ruth Mings Campbell, age 70, of Elk Horn, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Jewish Hospital after an illness.

She was born in Campbellsville, Ky on September 7, 1943 to the late William Zach and Cora Beth Watson Mings.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland “Bud” Campbell and a son, James Arnold Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Robert Campbell of Elk Horn, a daughter, Gail Zimmerman of Port St. Lucie, FL; her sisters, Veda Jean Hancock, of Campbellsville, Gerald Brown, of Campbellsville, Regina Parker of Elk Horn, Kay Watson of Campbellsville and Nina Cox of Campbellsville; six grandchildren, Rochell Campbell, Tara Coomer, Shanda C ampbell, Alexandra Zimmerman, Dalton Zimmerman and Logan Zimmerman and four great-grandchildren, Payton Coomer, Riley Coomer, Haley Campbell and Amelia Hocevar.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Elliott Cemetery.  The family request visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Paul Zimmerman, Thaddeus Zimmerman, Rodney Burress, Adam Burress, Victor Zimmerman and Todd Wenger.  Honorary pallbearers were Danny Hocevar and Joe Gill.

Vintage Perfume VialRonda Carol Anderson, age 49, of Campbellsville, formerly of Louisville, KY died Monday, April 28, 2014 in Campbellsville.

Ronda was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was a two time breast cancer survivor.

She is survived by her mother, Theresa Willard; her brothers, John Michael Anderson and Jason Scott Anderson of Campbellsville and Eric Ayers of Louisville and a sister, Crystal Gail Hatfield of Campbellsville.  Her father, Samuel Durbin Anderson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.  The family request visitation from 5-8 pm Thursday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Relay For Life. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.

Mrs. Theresa Lynn Hunt Pavlik, age 54, of Columbia, passed away on Monday in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her husband: Rodney Allan Pavlik of Columbia.

Two sons: Curtis Justin Pavlik of Columbia and Joseph Smith of Bethlehem, PA.

Two grandchildred: Alexis Marie Deel of Delaware and Braeden Dominic Smith of Pennsylvania and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a Memorial Service for Mrs. Theresa Lynn Hunt Pavlik will be conducted on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM EST 1:00 PM CST at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.

Family requests visitation after 1:00 P.M. EST 12 Noon CST on Thursday until time for service.

Margaret Abell Tucker

Martha Abell Tucker, age 89, of Campbellsville, was born in Lebanon, Ky., Aug. 27, 1924 to the late Hugh L. Abell and Edna Raley Abell. She died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Campbellsville.

She graduated from St. Augustine High School in Lebanon in 1943 and later, at Nazareth College in Louisville.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville where she had served as an usher and on various committees throughout the years, including the Legion of Mary.

Martha co-founded Tucker Diamonds & Gold in 1948, formerly called Young’s Jewelry Store and Tucker’s Jewelry Store. She was past president of Campbellsville Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW), as well as president of Campbellsville American Legion Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Campbellsville Downtown Business Association.

She was a dedicated Bridge player and a long-standing golfer, winning the Woman’s Club Championship five times at Campbellsville Country Club.

She united in marriage to Thomas Cleaver Young in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1955.

She united in marriage to Morris V. Tucker on January 13, 1957. He preceded her in death December 21, 2008.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas M. and Kathleen M. Tucker of Campbellsville; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Donald W. and Margaret W. Morford of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons: Drew D. Tucker and Abel M. Tucker of Campbellsville; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Al and Joy Tucker of Union, Ky.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Eugene Abell, Hugh Abell, Harold Abell, Mary George Abell, Susan Abell Ryan and Genevieve Abell Rawlings.

James Larry Wethington, 60

James Larry Wethington, 60, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at University of Louisville Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a fall.

James was born in Casey County, Kentucky on July 10, 1953 to the late William Basil and Ella Mae Parrott Wethington.  He worked as a construction worker and was a U.S. Army veteran.  In recent years he enjoyed being a grandfather and having coffee with his friend Robert.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Wethington; his sons, L.J. Wethington and his wife, Carla and William Wethington and his wife Miranda, both of Campbellsville; his sisters, Charlotte Tungate of Campbellsville, Betty Stewart and her husband Jimmy, of Evarts, KY and Martha Greer of Campbellsville; his brothers, Dean Wethington and his wife, Sue of Campbellsville; Tom Wethington and his wife, Nina, of Campbellsville, Joseph Wethington of Liberty and Michael Wethington of Campbellsville; a brother-in-law, Mike Cox and five grandchildren, Haley Brooke Wethington, Jacob Tyler Wethington, Savannah Jane Wethington, Caydence Michelle Wethington and William Carter Wethington.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law and one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Alan Bailey of Campbellsville and Ricky and Marie Russell of South Carolina. Eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Faye Russell will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. Arless Russell Akin

Arless Russell Akin of Campbellsville, son of the late Robert Ellis Akin and Carrie Bale Akin, was born in Green County, Kentucky, May 11, 1923. He died at 5:56 A.M., Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Campbellsville.     Age:   90

He professed faith in Christ and is a member of the Southside Christian Church.

He was a welder and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 183 in Lexington for some sixty years, a Taylor County Sheriff from 1974-1977 and a lifelong farmer and breeder of Hereford cattle and a member of the American Hereford Association.

He was on the first basketball team and the first baseball team at Taylor County High School. He was an avid amateur boxer and great all-around athlete.

He was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & AM.

He united in marriage to Jane Coleman Allender February 14, 1958. She preceded him in death February 24, 2003.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Robert Akin and wife, Jewell of Greensburg, Melissa Mallard and husband, Elliott of Ocala, Florida, Merry Beth Gold and husband, Brad of Greenville, North Carolina and Rocky Akin and wife, Lori of Campbellsville; ten grandchildren: Niki Akin and Andrew Akin of Greensburg, Matthew Mallard, Jared Mallard and Elliott Mallard, II of Ocala, Florida, Carrie Gold, Evan Gold and Mason Gold of Greenville, North Carolina, Rachael Dobson and Zachary Akin of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Brianna Dobson, Kaine Mallard and Grayson Mallard; two nieces: Connie Clem and husband, Fred of Elizabethtown and Donna Smith and husband, Dr. Roger Smith of Columbia and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Geneva Moss September 10, 2012 and Virginia Caulk August 11, 2013.

Mr. Calvin Eugene Price of Campbellsville, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Greensburg after a short illness. Mr. Price was born to the union of Leslie and Cora Belle (Underwood) Price on August 28, 1936, making him 77 years of age at the time of his passing. He was a life-long farmer in Taylor County, and a former bus driver for the Taylor County School District. He was granted 54 cherished years of marriage to his sweetheart, Virginia (Halcomb) Price, who survives.

Besides his wife, Mr. Price is survived by:
One son: Randall Price and wife Kim of Campbellsville
One daughter: Sheila Ray and husband Lloyd of Greensburg
Two grandchildren: Robert Ray of Greensburg and Coy Price of Campbellsville
Four siblings: Donald Price of Campbellsville, Dorothy Chappel of Campbellsville, Ella Berry of Louisville, and Cedell Cox of Louisville
A sister-in-law: Gwen Price of Louisville
And a host of other extended family and friends

He was preceded in death by:
One son: Larry Ray Price
One sister and two brothers: Louise Hash, Hobert Price, Elgin Price, and two other siblings in infancy.

There will be a funeral service for Mr. Calvin Eugene Price at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Raymond Clark and Bro. Chris Murphy officiating.
Interment in the Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, April 25, after 5:00 PM.

Roger Dale Luttrell of Elk Horn, son of the late Harvey Roe Luttrell and Myrtle Fair Luttrell Wilson, was born in Casey County, Kentucky April 28, 1951. He died at 10:49 A.M., Monday, April 21, 2014 in Campbellsville.      Age: 62

He was an employee of Lebanon Oak Flooring in Lebanon for some thirty-eight years.

He is survived by one sister, Kathy June Luttrell of Cub Run; five nephews: Douglas Kilby of Georgetown, Greg Gaddis and Kevin Gaddis of Scottsburg, Indiana, Anthony Shively and Joseph Shively of Cub Run, Kentucky; several great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew; and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by one brother and five sisters: Gerald Dean Luttrell, Mary Luttrell, Betty Jean Kilby, Connie Sue Gaddis, Polly Luttrell and Cora Bell Luttrell and one nephew, Stephen Shively.

Mr. Michael D. “Mikey” Stayton, the son of the late Howard “Red” and Frances Watson Stayton, was born Saturday, September 15, 1962 in Campbellsville at departed this life on Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 51 years, 7 months and 5 days of age.
He was a cabinet maker with T&M Custom Cabinets in Campbellsville, which was owned and operated by Michael and his wife Tammy. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife: Tammy Fair Stayton; a step-daughter: Loretta Marie Simmons; three step-grandchildren: Reggie Allen Thomas, Alexis Marie Thomas and Cataleya Ryniah Smith, and his aunt: Dorothy Callahan all of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. Bro. Daniel Cook will be officiating.
