David Earl Johnson of Campbellsville, son of the late Earl M. Johnson and Nora Pierce Johnson Cecil, was born February 10, 1942, in Texas City, Texas.  He died at 2:11 A.M., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Elizabethtown.    Age: 71

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Boaz Masonic Home Lodge #850 F & AM.

He united in marriage to Norma Jean McCarty February 11, 1961.  She preceded him in death April 1, 2013.

He is survived by two sons:  Dwayne Earl Johnson and wife, Margie Sue of Somerset and Tony Johnson and special friend, Linda Welch of Greensburg;

one grandson, Daniel Earl Johnson of Somerset; one great-grandson, Zachary Johnson; one half-brother and one half-sister:  Phillip Leo Cecil and Sherry Lynn Brockman and husband, Doug of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Lee Johnson in December 2012 and his step-father, Leo Cecil, who raised him.

Sybil A. Morgan, age 84 of Lebanon died Sunday, September 6, 2013 at her residence in Marion County.
She was survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws; Steve and Teresa Morgan and Ron and Teresa Morgan both of Campbellsville, two daughters; Vickie Gribbins and Carla Mattingly both of Lebanon, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, two brothers; Curtis Robertson of Donansburg and Charles Robertson of LeGrande, one sister; Louise Bryant of Monroe along with a host of family and friends.
Services for Ms. Sybil Morgan will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Wickerville Cemetery.

Opal Bailey Mings of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Calvin C. Bailey and Lena Lee Carroll Bailey, was born in October 12, 1921. She died at 12:20 A.M., Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Campbellsville.  Age:  91

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Jodie Mings July 14, 1940. He preceded her in death March 9, 2013.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Joretta and Jerry Parker and Theresia and Eddie Rogers of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Greg Rinehart and wife, Tracey, LeAnne Sutton, Jason Parker, and Jeremy Parker and wife, Natalie; five great-grandchildren: Lauren Rinehart, Grant Rinehart, Conner Rinehart, Jordan Sutton, and Charli Parker; and one sister-in-law, Mary Mings of Campbellsville.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and her husband: Eleasia (Lisa) and Donald Rinehart.

Cecil Sharpe of Campbellsville, son of the late June Sharpe and Lora Milby Sharpe was born May 29, 1932 in Green County, Kentucky. He died at 1:40 A.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Campbellsville.                    Age: 81

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church and attended Salem Baptist Church.

He was a Farmer and Truck Driver.

He united in marriage to Helen Rainwater May 26, 1951.

Besides his wife, Helen Sharpe of Campbellsville he is survived by one son and one daughter: Gary Wayne Sharpe and wife, Sharon of Lexington and Diane Hunt and husband, Stewart of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Brian Sharpe and wife, Tiffany of Corbin, Melissa Sharpe of Lexington, Jessica Squires and husband, Billy of Greensburg and Jonathan Hunt and wife, Allison of Russellville; two great grand-daughters: Katelynn Savannah Squires and Meghan Elizabeth Squires; one sister: Evelyn Fisher of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Raymond Sharpe, Edward Sharpe, James Rollin Sharpe, Joseph Thomas Sharpe, Louise Atwell and Aileen Hayes.

Mr. Roger Dale Antle, Sr

Mr. Roger Dale Antle, Sr, age 62, of Campbellsville, passed away on Saturday in Campbellsville, at his home.

Survivors include his father: Roy Antle of Campbellsville.

by two sons and spouses: Scott and Julie Antle of Campbellsville and Roger Dale, Jr and Valerie Antle of Bowling Green.

A step-daughter: Stacie Worth of Hardinsburg, KY

3 sisters: Connie Crowe and her husband Larry, Bonnie Antle and Frances Martin, all of Campbellsville.

A brother; Roy Antle, Jr and wife Gayle of Greensburg.

4 grandchildren: Makala Antle and Dakota Antle of Campbellsville and Breanna Bruce of Bowling Green and Kevin Stockton of Hardinsburg and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Roger Dale Antle, Sr, will be conducted Monday at 12 noon at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Walls-Antle Cemetery in Green County.

Marie Pike Russell of Franklin, Tennessee, formerly of Old Columbia Road in Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ulysses Alvin Pike and Clara Mae McQuese Pike, was born July 28, 1917, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 9:52 P.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2013, in Nashville.   Age: 96

She united in marriage to Leonard Russell October 19, 1935.  He preceded her in death April 4, 1986

She is survived by two daughters:  Janice Russell Wilder and husband, James Andrew of Winter Park, Florida and Donna Russell Blewett and husband, Bill of Franklin, Tennessee; two grandchildren:  David Andrew Wilder and wife, Julie of Florida and Anne Campbell of Brentwood, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren:  Anna Wilder and Ethan Wilder; one sister, Hazel Eggenberger of Rochester, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Max Russell January 31, 1998 and two sisters and four brothers:  Nellie Allison, Ellamae Colvin, James Pike, Russell Pike, Raymond Pike and Garnett Pike.

W. Paul Smith

W. Paul Smith of Mannsville, son of the late William T. Smith and Blanka Rose Boll Smith, was born August 26, 1928, in Little Rock, Arkansas.   He died at 2:15 P.M., Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Louisville.                     Age: 85

He professed faith in Christ and attended Mannsville United Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, having served his country honorably in the United States Army for some twenty-six years and retiring as Sergeant Major.

He was a member of the Elk Horn Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & AM, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners.

He united in marriage to Goldie O. Cox May 30, 1962.

Besides his wife, Goldie O. Smith of Mannsville, he is survived by one son, Clifford Krider of Campbellsville; three granddaughters:  Nicole Krider and Natasha Krider of Louisville and Michelle Wallkey of Richmond; one great-grandson, Logan Porter Stubbs; one brother, Rex L. Smith and wife, Cathy of Denton, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marlea Angelique McCubbin September 20, 2008 and two brothers and two sisters:  Robert Smith, Jimmy Smith, Julia Mae Clinton and Rose Marie Dwengor.

Mary Marie Budd

Mrs. Mary Marie Budd passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 93 years old. Mrs. Budd was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ella (Halbert) Payne. When she wasn’t painting and crafting, Mrs. Budd loved to be outside where she could breathe fresh air and watch her hummingbirds. She had united in marriage to Wilfred P. Budd, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by:

Two daughters – Karen Metz and husband John, of Greensburg, and Camille Craig and husband Mike of Nevada,

Five siblings – Ellen Kirk of Ohio, Louise Bolland of California, John Payne of Ohio, Joe Payne of Virginia, and Dave Payne of California,

Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Budd was preceded in death by:
Her husband – Wilfred P. Budd,
Her parents – Clinton and Ella Payne,
One sister – Alice Thompson.

          Paula Faye Cox, age 66, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her residence in Taylor County.

          She was the daughter of the late Lyda Mae Price and Virgil Ray Corbin, also preceding her in death four sisters; Rita Mae Hafley of Lebanon, Juanita Jo Morgeson, Charlene Brockman both of Campbellsville, and Jessie Samuel Gabbert of Tenn.

          Paula was a member of White Ridge Baptist Church, she was a loving mother and grandmother and friend to many.

          She is survived by five daughters and son-in-laws; Shelia and Steven Coffey of Gradyville, Melinda and Mike Lafollette of Hodgenville, Kathy and Tony Dile of Magnolia, Stacy and Lee Kendall of Mt Juliet, Tenn.,  Jeanette and Matt Underwood of LaGrange, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two brothers; James Michael Corbin of Campbellsville and Lloyd David Gabbert of Tenn., three sisters; Freda Ray Wash of Nicholasville, Marlene Bell and Michelle Shaw both of Campbellsville, along with a host of family and friends.

          Cameron Tray’shawn Smith, age 13 of Campbellsville, died Friday, September 27, 2013 residence in Marion County.

          He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Deroy Thompson and great-grandparents; Cora Lee Smith, Edward Lee Fisher, William L. Bridgewater and Cleo and Howard Thompson.

          Cameron was a Campbellsville Middle School Football Player #75 “Dream Gold”.  He loved his family, friends, team mates, coaches and CMS staff, this young man will be missed by the community and most of all by his family.

          He was survived by his parents; Tiffany Fisher and William Smith of Campbellsville, step-father; Lamont Smith of Lebanon and step-mother Vanessa Smith of Campbellsville, four brothers; Sedgie Daniel and Sedarion Daniel both of Lebanon, Adrian Smith, Ladanien Smith and Enoch Smith all of Adair County, two sisters; Diarra Thompson and Ty’asiah Fisher both of Lebanon.
