Rev. James Hatfield

Rev. James Hatfield of Campbellsville, son of the late James Lonnie Hatfield and Vesta Mullens Hatfield, was born in New Richmond, West Virginia, February 16, 1936. He died at 9:30 P.M., Saturday, August 1, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 73
He professed faith in Christ and was a Baptist Minister, having served Yuma Baptist Church from 1971 to 1977, Central Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan from 1977 to 1996, and Canmer Baptist Church in Canmer, Kentucky from 1997 to 2008. He is a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
He united in marriage to Betty Arp May 13, 1956.
Besides his wife, Betty Hatfield of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and their wives: Jimmy and Julie Hatfield of Columbia, Tennessee and Jeff and Renee Hatfield of Worcester, Massachusetts; five grandchildren: Andrea Hatfield, Nathan Hatfield, and Curtis Hatfield of Columbia, Tennessee and Aria Hatfield and Tyler Hatfield of Worcester, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers: Marie Abshire, Bill Hatfield and Bob Hatfield.

Susie Della Sapp of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Isaac Groves and Osie Groves, was born December 27, 1909, in Portland, Tennessee. She died at 5:55 A.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age: 99
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
She united in marriage to Alonza Sapp September 20, 1930. He preceded her in death December 30, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters and one son: Bernice Bowen Cox, Laverne Witham and husband, Edward and Manuel Sapp and wife, Carolyn of Campbellsville; daughter-in-law, Margaret Sapp of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Benton Moore Groves and Alton EdwardGroves of Bucyrus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Randolph Sapp November 23, 2003 and five brothers and four sisters: James Houston Groves, J. C. Groves, Nettie Lee Houk, Osie Rebecca Perry, Thomas Jefferson Groves, Oscar Presley Groves, Ollie Bernice Groves, William Chester Groves and Deloris Ann Groves.

Susan T. Parker, of Columbia, daughter of Velma Tungate and the late Jesse Earl Tungate was born July 22, 1948 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 11:55 A.M., Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age: 61
She was employed in the photo department of Walmart.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Parker, Sr. of Columbia; daughter, Norann Parker amp; her special friend, Chris Janes of Campbellsville; granddaughter, McKenzie (Gracie) Janes; her mother, Velma Tungate of Elkhorn; three sisters: Carol Ann (Bro. Carol) Perkins of Campbellsville, Norma (Woody) Woods of Green Castle, Indiana, and Wanda (Jimmy) Wright of Mt. Washington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Parker, Jr. July 30, 2000.

She would have entered second grade at Taylor County Elementary School this year.
She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Caulk Glass of Campbellsville; father, Lee Glass of Shelbyville; one sister, Shelby Lynn Cash of Campbellsville; one brother, Isaac Matthew Glass of LaGrange; maternal grandparents, James Paul and Phyllis Caulk of Campbellsville; paternal grandmother, Suzanne Glass of Mt. Washington; two aunts and three uncles: Rhonda (Jason) Vale of Campbellsville, Don (Sherri) Glass of Louisville, Renee (Dan) Sowder and John Glass of Mt. Robert (Bob) Bowen, 78, of Hatcher Road, Campbellsville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at his residence after an illness.
He was the son of the late Lowell and Lola Holt Bowen. He was preceded in death by his brothers Leslie Bowen, Raymond Bowen and sisters, Bertha Heistand, Ruth Parrot, Lou Anderson, Hazel Craig, Sara Morgan. He was a member of East Church of God and the Masonic Lodge and retired employee of General Electric..
He is survived by his wife, Rita Bowen of Campbellsville, his children and spouses, Brandon R. And Krista Bowen of Sonora, Rebecca and Michael Sherrard, of Louisville, Robert Bowen, Jr of Louisville, one grandson, Jordon Young of Louisville, two brothers, Bill Bowen of Campbellsville, Edward Bowen of Clarkson and one sister, Helen Glassock of Campbellsville.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She had been employed by Fruit of the Loom as a seamstress and Taylor Regional Hospital as a nursersquo;s aid.
She was a former Board member of the Lake Cumberland Community Services Organization.
She united in marriage to Delbert Montgomery who preceded her in death.
She united in marriage to Finis Dile who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons: Betty Philpott of Campbellsville, Vicky Bungard of Imperial, Pennsylvania, Garnett Wayne Montgomery of Jeffersonville, and Billy Montgomery of Dover, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Tom Cundiff of Campbellsville and Jean Rogers of Chicago; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Gabehart and one sister, Laverne Crouch.
